Lmao if Biggie was alive and heard Failure he woulda tried to sign Lupe off that record alone

Why play Mural for a chick to impress her? Mural is for rap nikkas that love rap flexing :mjlol:

Just play some shyt like Paris, Tokyo… ya know, the song that Nas daughter was just rapping along to on her IG not too long ago :pachaha:

y’all nikkas arguments to shyt on Lupe is so easy to rebuttal. This is like arguing with nikkas in the coliseum about why Tom Brady is better than Ryan Tannehill and why he had a better season than him :deadrose:

I never understood this though, so because someone has bigger records you're not allowed to critique their art? I don't understand what Lupe having bigger records has to do with if they can talk about him or not.
not at all i'm critical of lupe and have been most of his career. especially when he was taking digs at Kendrick who easily has a better discog. Lu never found that balance but he is also not lyrical miracle.

I've also always associated lyrical miracle cats with having not very smooth flows. I'm guessing that was never a part of the definition, but yeah. Talib Kweli for example. I love his first 2 albums and Black Star, but sometimes he has a herky jerky flow and tries to fit way too many words into his bars. Also, these Armand Hammer cats that just did this album with Alchemist this year...I think they're super dope lyrically, and they're saying some real shyt, but their flows to me are a little off-kilter.

I never really looked at it as a flow thing, to be honest, a lot of “lyrical miracle” nikkas usually have those super fast flows

Lupe is lyrical miracle? How?

lyrical miracle is those rappers that force multis and big words to make them sound smart but when you breakdown their bars they really don’t be saying shyt. That ain’t Lupe at all. Guys like Atmosphere and Aesop Rock

Niccaz can be both, and Lupe is probably the most extreme example (maybe together with Eminem) which is why they've both become such divisive figures.

If you listen to their albums you can hear them flipping between the two styles, but if you only hear the lyrical miracle shyt I 100% understand giving it a :scust:

Lupe on SLR3.5 > any of the Murals

I'm a Lupe fan and yeah he's lyrical miracle at times or at least I can understand why people call him lyrical miracle, but I think he's nice with it. Earlier in his career I feel he was a bit more balanced.

Occasionally he'll make songs like this though:

But I can see how people may interpret him as being above other rappers. You can probably catch that vibe on the track I posted.

If you listen to those Eminem interviews - the one he did w crook, it's clear he knows he's doing this shyt. It's just what more does he have to say? The only thing left that's fun for HIM and some of these cats is to just have fun with structure/flow. He knows most of these songs ain't about shyt. At this point it's about challenging themselves and what they like. It makes for bad music imo, but I understand the rationale.
