You guys spend entirely too much time 'ranking' shyt around here. Worrying about 'well how will this album sound in 4 years after Obama's term as President is up and policy changes in America make it a different place. Is it going to be classic?'

The year isn't over. A lot of good music has been put out. We are just starting the 4th quarter when we get hit with a ton of music.

IDK breh. The last dope album I heard was Life Is Good. I bought Kanye, Wale, Coles, and Ross joints. I downloaded Jays, Kendrick, Meek Mill, and 2 Chainz. Most those albums got thrown in the bushes after about a week.

I'm low key just hoping Big KRIT don't drop a dud or this will be one of the worst years in hip hop ever.

It's been getting diluted every year. It's just further diluted. That's all. Just harder to find that authentic music, not something being mass marketed to you by a corp.

What about Killah Priest's shyt? I thought ASAP Rocky's album was cool. Same with Mac Miller's album.

I thought Jayz and J Cole put out very strong albums :yeshrug:

I think you might be going a bit far as 'worst ever' homey

Good music.is out there but its a reworking of the old stuff with a new era face so that feeling of some fresh music isnt there anymore. A major thing that is lacking is superstars. Since record companies arent messing with black music like that, money isn't being put into artist development and this is important because superstars are groomed not born. Lastly, too much ok music is out there which makes it harder to find banging stuff and the people who make great music might not want to put their all into this game since too many peopl dont buy albums just download. Why spend time losing money when you cant make a profit out of it?. Might as well get a following in other genres where the fans are not competing with you cause they do music too.

I still love rap music though. When I think I'm done I hear some old shyt I forgot about or some new shyt that bumps that bringa me back home.

This is the worst era of all time.

I bet you said those exact same words 6-7 years ago at some point too. When it was actually worse than it is now. Be honest.

We've made a big progress since the ringtone shyt was flooding the radio. Admit buddy, you just hate cause it ain't catered to your demographic anymore. The thug shyt you adore so much is over.We young ppl run this shyt now.

My Pops Forever RIP
Y'all care too fukking much, to the point where you can't even enjoy the good shyt that's going on because it's not classic. You're dying for something life changing to happen in music it's affecting how you view even the shyt you enjoy. Y'all try to type something into greatness instead of letting shyt marinate, and if it's not great, you'll type something into irrelevance. Hip-hop wants a "Smells Like Teen Spirit" type of shyt to happen.

Now older heads are mostly cranky because their baby (hip-hop) isn't primarily catered to them anymore, like hip-hop was supposed to grow with you and die with you. As for the regional stuff, cut the bullshyt. It's music, not sports. Some of y'all talk like NY rap is like the New York Knicks who haven't won in 40 years and therefore fans are supposed to feel a certain way about that. It's not that serious. Back in the day, fans used to be real ignorant about who they supported. I'm not gonna support someone just cuz they're from my city and I'm not gonna dislike someone just cuz they're not from my city. The content isn't the same because people don't wanna dwell on negative shyt so much in this country (which sucks for hip-hop because it's a genre that generally gets bland without feeding off misery, so if you don't want your region to get soft, fukk your city up. At least we'll know what your priorities are)

Nothing will be the same way it was when you were younger. Adapt or get over it. Instead, y'all do neither and just complain. While you're doing that, you're not finding music you like. You're not sticking to the music you already like. You're not supporting anything you like (which is a huge problem). You focus way too much on what these guys do outside the booth, as if listening to a particular rapper makes you more or less of a man (which is retarded and lets me know daddy wasn't home a lot). Everything's so anal to y'all you'll never enjoy things and let history be a determining factor anymore. It's not just hip-hop. It's entertainment as a whole. It's just hip-hop that's so resistant to change.

You took every word out of my mouth and clarified it so detailed. This is something old heads(and you too 23 year old fools trying to act like yall experienced so much to talk like old heads) need to pay attention to. But they too damn close minded.

So 10 years ago nikkas from NY, Cali, Georgia, etc wasnt all wearing jerseys baggy pants and jordans?:skip:

Yep. Some of these :old: nikkas are talking out their ass. Yeah, regionalism is dead, and that is thanks to the internet making music and fashion all globalized and fast paced video uploads.

Yep. Hip Hop needs to learn how to make good music in times of peace. Can't build a foundation off of hatred and misery.
