1- South Africa (132.4 Cases Per 100,000 People)
As mentioned earlier, South Africa occupies the first spot on the list of top 10 countries with the highest rape cases in the world. Since only a few people report rape in the country, it’s very difficult to know the exact number of cases. However, according to a study in 2012, the country recorded about 127.6 incidents per 100,000 people. Unfortunately, that has now significantly increased to 132.4 incidents per 100,000 people.
2- Botswana (92.9 Cases Per 100,000 People)
Sitting in the second position on the list of top 10 countries with the highest rape cases in the world is Botswana. Just like in South Africa, many rape cases go unreported in the country. As such, it’s a bit difficult to know the exact number of cases. However, according to the recent study, it shows that the country records about 92.9 number of rape cases per 100,000 people.
3- Lesotho (82.7 Cases Per 100,000 People)
Next on the list of top 10 countries with the highest rape cases in the world is Lesotho. As of 2008, UNODC reported that the rapes recorded in the country was the highest in the world. Well, according to recent studies, it seems the country hasn’t yet found an effective measure to reduce how the incident occur. Currently, Lesotho records about 82.7 number of rape cases per 100,000 of its population.

According to the recent Violence Against Children Survey (VACS) in the country, about one in three girls between the ages of 13 and 17 experience sexual violence.

Speaking of rape incidents in Sweden, the country records about 63.5 cases per 100,000 of its population. As of 2012, the country recorded 66 rale cases per 100,000 people. According to a recent study, about one out of four women in the country have experienced sexual assault.

In 2012, Nicaragua enacted a comprehensive law against gender-based violence. Even with that, the country still struggles to reduce sexual assault cases. Currently, Nicaragua records about 31.6 rape cases per 100,000 of its population. And with that, the country occupies the ninth position on this list.

Although the country has a stiff law in place for rape criminals, it has only helped to a small extent to curb the criminal act.
