I tell my people don't fall in love with the game or the art, they look at me funny like im a suit lol but in my opinion, being in love with anyone or anything is an L

If you think you entitled to success because you are talented, you gonna be in for a real shock. Its that real.

anything this its not what you know but who you know, alot of people forget this, even i do sometimes

agallah mentions funk flex selling him a dream , i guess cause flex is one of the big dj's in new yawk but still if agallah has been in the game since early 90's he should know not to rely on people like that

its funny cause just a few months ago i was listening to that funk flex rant on hot97 when he played the jadakiss and future song for like 30mins straight , he said something that stood out to me, something about, your only popping when your hot, if no one is bugging u, ur not cared about and if youre wondering why no one is messing with u that just means u aint popping, and that he will only fuk with u if u got heat. but if u dont then dont wait on flex to call u.

Co-sign this. You need to have realistic goals in whatever field you apply your talents too cause when it's failing you got to know when to let it go. Hell for all the cats who are talking about dude is a nobody well at least he had the opportunity to get national exposure cause I'm SURE we ALL no some local cats who just KNEW they were going to blow up and never even made it off the block :mjcry:

Sometimes all you need is a change of branding and management, and most importantly a following. Make fans spread your music, but before that you gotta put things into place. Not everyone's as lucky as a Keef or a Drake. You can't be spoonfed success. You gotta start a youtube channel, format your titles correctly, do interviews, sometimes even change your stage name, gotta make sure that mixtape cover is appealing, change the fukking font, etc. So much shyt involved, a lot of it simply superficial or trivial. Sometime you got a start a random beef to get noticed. :shaq2:

one of the reasons why some people have to show tyler the creator abit more respect, he hit the game at the right moment, i remember when this kneega was broke , he was putting shyt out and no one cared till he just kept working and working and it paid off for him big time

:wow:

its sad, a lot of people around me were trying to blow up and some of them were actually good they had that spark but when that shyt hits u like "what am i really doing with myself?:mjcry:"

That's interesting. Although I'd speculate his persona and antics played a huge role in getting noticed too. Same can be said bout Lil B, Young Thug, etc. 50 Cent too, with his beefs, etc.

That post above shows he doesn't realize what era we're in. nikka still trying to get radio play when he needs to be focusing on building a core fan base so he can do shows. The money is not in getting your songs played on the radio anymore. That shyts dead. And the artist he is and music he makes would never fit in the format. There's plenty of ways to make good money as an indie artist in 2016. I fukk with 8-Off but it sounds like he wants a hand out. He keeps talking about the work he put in back in the day, so that means people should be obligated to help him. nikka are you high? There's people who have done infinitely more than you and don't get any attention. nikka needs to evaluate what success for an artist like him. If he can get to getting 500-1000 for a show, doing 10-15 shows a month he can make a good living off rap. But this nikka seems to want someone to hand him a quarter million just because he's been rapping a long time.

the main thing in what agallah is trying to say is he already put in a lot of work (alot of people say back in the days rap was more competitive) and that he was lied too and just cant understand why "other" types of rap get more look

Here's where the upside of Trap and Club music comes in, rappers doing these genres get much more indy work at clubs and shows then people doing hardcore or backpack styles. Those are fewer and farther between, whereas you can literally play a club show every single night of the week. Agallah's music is the former.

the tri-state
this thread reminded me of @Hawaiian Punch thread the other day

change the names and places and this story can apply to many a rapper

its sad but true

theres no shame in getting a regular job though.

and to the guy who said dont love anything, nah duke.

thats the attitude that got us here in the first place,

agallah name is cemented in hip-hop history whether he wants to acknowledge it or not

there is 8 billion people on this planet

i know for a fact 10,000,000 people know who he is even if you have to slap gta3 in front of them again

that is power

the fact he cant monetize that is another issue

but he has a legacy, the legacy was hip-hop.

so whether agallah quits or raps or jumps in front the 2 train

i will always strive to "keep risin to the top"
