hex is one of the realest dudes on twitter...
Yup. Good to see these cats get the point. This isn't about how you feel RIGHT NOW. It's about how much effort you're putting into your rhymes today, tomorrow, next year, etc. nikkas been lazy.
How much time is put into those forgettable verses Ross, Drake, Wayne, etc do together? You haven't heard anyone arguing about who got who on a Khaled record since We Taking Over. Collabs used to be an event. You heard Meth was on Biggie's album and you bought that shyt to see who got who. Not in a negative way because you fukked with both nikkas, but in the same way a non-fanboy NBA viewer will watch Kobe and LeBron go at it. End of the night you (usually) are entertained by both players. That shyt rarely happens today. The label just looks at the metrics, figures out who they need on the song, and cut the check. Beat is sent by email, verse sent back by email, then everyone shows up for the video.
You know who took the biggest L in all this? French Montana. Because IMO he represents this lazy attitude of rappers today, where you type out some struggle bars on your iPhone, spit on a couple takes, and call it a day. What kind of man can sit back and let his career be defined by his feature list? I didn't even know Pop That was his song when I first heard it.
