Yeah he left because of the Death Row situation. Blackballed doesn't mean every door is shut. Just that one person/group/label goes out their way to shut down avenues. Puffy & Jimmy Iovine are notorious for doing it.

That's exactly what it means :what: Especially in a case like Eazy-E. Ain't no blackballed artist running a label, puttin' out albums and puttin' other artists on. Blackballed artists can't even put themselves on.

:patrice: uhhhh yes, that's exactly what blackballed means. A lot of these examples in this thread are people who haven't been blackballed.... they just fell off.

RA The Rugged Man been blackballed from the industry for some of his antics back in the day.

Vinnie Paz been blackballed for his political music, including shyt that might get him labelled "anti-semite". Vlad won't have him on for the same reason, even tho Jamar says Paz on his top 5 white rappers list.

Professor Griff got kicked out of Public Enemy, again over so-called "anti-semitism" and exposing the system.

DJ Vlad got Tone Trump banned from the Universal Music building. You can read more about it here.
How could anyone forget about Professor Griff?

He talked greasy about the Jews and got that axe.

Meanwhile Marshall got exposed as a racist and still got to thrive in Black music

Then again I guess that exposure just made him more relatable to most of his fans
Rule #0384 of the industry: don't talk about Jews.

Rappers can talk all the shyt about black people all the want....but the moment any rapper discusses anything that could be considered remotely anti-Semitic it's curtains.
:camby:

But then again we all know who runs the industry...

Right! Like somebody said Mic Geronimo... blackballed how? Unless someone went out of their way to ensure that he never got work again in the rap game, he was not blackballed. He put out two albums, neither of which even went gold, left that label, and then hip-hop was moving into an era where going platinum was the goal... what label would be dying to sign Mic, or better yet, what great opportunities would he be getting blocked from and by whom?
