her and kelis are two who had their who swag jacked. ke$sha actually monetized the kid sister swag (nicki to an extent as well) and we know rihanna jacked 2006 kelis's swag something serious. kelis would've been a more viable artist today than when she dropped in 99/00
Yea people didnt know what to do with her. Same with N*E*R*D, they peaked with their first 2 albums IMO.

Saigon came out at the right time, his label situation just fukked him over and the album came out at the wrong time.
Max B i felt came out at the right time, other shyt just fukked him up..he led the way and other followed suit and capitalized..he should get his due.

Joey Bada$$ would have been just another person trying to get on lost in the mix.

but if Joey Bada$$ came out in like 05/06 when blogs like BustTheFacts etc started blowing up and all these dope 90's album i was discovering and i was becoming a bit of rap nerd like that i would have been a super fan of Joey because i could have related to this young guy who's doing something similar to me but he's putting those influences down in music.

Lupe and Wale should have come out during the early 90s when the Native Tongues movement was poppin

Saigon should have come out in the Early to Mid 00s..he could have been a big rival to 50 Cent

If Ciara came out now she would sell Lady Gaga numbers tbh

No the fukk she wouldn't :heh:

mind you, not too long ago... Lady Gaga was voted the 2nd most influential person on the planet.

Ciara's major flaw was that she couldn't sing at a level that would put her in an elite class, her being able to dance is nice...but being able to dance don't mean shyt.

If Kanye came out in the 90's he would be a nobody....
Hard to say - he's very much a product of 90's but has a forward-looking perspective.

Most people on this list are derivative and thus look out of place now. Troy Ave, Badass and even Saigon basically make rap that was made better 10-15 years ago.

Only a few are actually ahead of their times - a Lupe. But even then they helped pave the way.

Had Kane come out in '93 with a Raw - hardcore type record he would have millions. give it 5-6 years to switch up to the Playboy shyt full-time in 97-98 he's laughing.

Her issue is that after her debut she's never aligned herself with the right producers/writers who have her as a priority. If she rocked with the right people - she could've been Aaliyah.

She came out the gate with the correct sound for the time. But could never do that again.

We dont know which Kanye would have come out now. He has changed A LOT over the last 10 yrs.

Why change the trajectory of Kanye's career? If he came into the game in....let's say 1994 with the same beats he had on "The Blueprint", or the same raps/beats on his debut....he wouldn't make any impact whatsoever. His raps would be considered the lower end of Native Tongues spectrum and his beats would be a RZA clone. I doubt he would've lasted long enough to change into anything else.

He came out in a time when people needed something new....if he came out in the 90's he wouldn't offer anything other people didn't do better.

Fred.

Lupe either 5 years earlier or 5 years later...

if Lupe came out in the early or mid 2000's nobody would give a fukk about him, cause gangsta rap was king...and if he came out in the 2010's nobody would give a fukk about him either...cause he'd be seen as nothing more than a internet troll who posed as a pseudo intellectual.

he came out at the right time, when people were still buying CD's but not fully vested into the digital age and social media.
