I think it was Drakes way of getting himself credit to Bay Area fans who remember and like 4-Tay's song. He wanted cats to be like "Oh sh*t, that nikka drizzy knows his sh*t!"Kinda like naming that random song "Wu-Tang Forever." If it was about giving 4tay credit he could have name dropped him or at least reached out to say he was gonna do it. But his intentions in doing it is a separate issue though. My point in my original post is you can't sh*t on 4tay for not automatically sucking Drakes d1ck because he used his lines especially when that kind of thing was a no no during the era 4-tay came in at.
Yeah i agree with this,if he was just on some random track with Jayz on a east coast beat using these lines it might be a little more suspect. But the fact is whether people want to believe it or not,when these type of songs get made nikkas think of The Bay
...Drake used the 4tay lines,and Too Shorts flow a little bit in his verse,and Game mentioned The Town too......so you gotta believe this song was made with Bay nikkas in mind who you would expect to know this 4tay verse,maybe not bucks but its a pretty popular classic song....20 somethings would know these is 4tay lyrics...so while a lot of people wouldn't know these is 4tays lyrics the people who the song is intended for,or at least the people Drake had in mind when he made the song(bay area hiphop fans
) would know these is 4tays lyrics and its not some sneaky underhanded bite when you look at it that way....its not random,used a bay legends lyrics on a song intended for bay area hiphop fans.
