not talking about the OG review by Steve Flash Juon that trashed the whole album this one was done in 2012

Nas :: It Was Written [revisited] – RapReviews.com

How you gonna give Nas a 7.5 on lyrics when he was rapping his ass off for the whole album?

the 6.5 on beats? Trackmasters imo did their thing here not to mention Premier, Stretch, Hav, etc

I guess one questionable song out of 15 brought down the whole album for dude:francis:

Eh...a lot of rap purists hated on IWW for years. This isn't a white thing. Q-Tip told Steve Stoute that the album would destroy Nas' career.

I didn't say nothin about that...I'm talking about these rap blog reviews, all of them, they're written by cornballs. Why even waste the time reading them? Care about the opinions of non-qualified nobodies brehs, word to Akademiks.

Why post this? Why did you even read it? Smh. It was probably written by some nobody cracker who started liking hip hop when Eminem came out.
Steve Flash Juan was exposed by Dipset stans on SOHH as a white dude from Iowa or somewhere Midwest. Dude looked like Ron Swanson from Parks & Rec....thread was classic until he got the administrator to delete it:russ:

Thought it was Nebraska? How funny tho. Was a go to site at one point, I've forgotten all about that spot until this thread.

The OG review was even MORE trash.

But if you look at the reviews on the site as a whole, he pretty much hated everything that wasn’t “boom bap” from 96-99. He shytted on Vol. 2 as well. He said something like “Jay-Z needs to quit butt-fukking Annie and get back to the real shyt”.

You can’t take too much of anything white back packers from the 90’s say.

Their review of Ironman :picard:

Ghostface Killah :: Ironman :: Razor Sharp Records/Epic Street

_Wildflower_ should just be considered a throwaway. It's got a decidedly average beat and a highly misogynistic message, even for the Wu. This one is just awful; I can't remember anything dipping this low since Ice Cube's _Cave bytch_. :mjpls:

RR and OHHLA used to be my shyr when I first got internet.

if u nas stans keep it 100, it was written was pretty much considered a let down by pretty much everyone up until the beef with jay in 2001 when u stans went back and revised history and all of a sudden started bigging up IWW because you wanted to dispel the notion of the 1 hot album every 10 year average narrative..

when it was written came out, lauryn hill saved it from being a complete flop
then i am came out and mostly everyone who heard the og version of that album thought the commercial release was :trash:

and we all know how nastradamus was viewed back then and even now

then jay pointed out the fact that nas was putting out duds and u stans went into over drive revising history :wbrook:
