You nikkas really gotta grow the fukk up man. Criticizing a female related anything does not mean "yawl hate wimmin :damn:"

That line of thought is about as basic as Rapsody's songwriting capability.

Relax. There are plenty posts in here where people showed their dislike for women rappers for no logical reason. Has nothing to do with growing up.

Ima just disagree with you and her songwriting comment. It’s pretty good in mine and others opinion

Her delivery is terrible. Not a fan of her music. Her production was on point with this. Latifah and Cole had the most memorable verses

Stumbled my way to track 10...I've heard enough :unimpressed:

This chick is not a good rapper man. Doesn't have the voice for it, her lisp doesn't work in her favor like G Rap, her delivery is about as flat as the bottom of a 2 liter, and on the low, this chick is name dropping more than Game. Ok, I can understand the tracks being named after prominent black female figures/entertainers and injecting references in songs....but that's quite literally ALL she's doing. It's not compelling, it's you doing a few Google searches and looking for a half-assed punchline. and yes, she got some dudes mixed in here too. And yes....she's still all over Jay's dikk.

She wants to show a proud black woman SO BAD and on the surface, that's a beautiful thing, but there's nothing beyond that. No depth, no insight, no nothing. Just a hashtag and a dark colored emoji fist is about all it's worth on here.

Beyond that, Maya was the only beat that caught my ear but I'm not putting up with this broad to hear the rest.

9th alienated Little Brother and most of the Justus League for this?

I don't care what's in your pants or who you lay down with, if the shyt ain't up to par, I'm calling it as such.

Blah blah blah

Take your internet tough guy act elsewhere.

You're trying too hard.

Rap is a great rapper.

The content is important, necessary, carefully considered, appreciated.

The music itself seems flat. I hear this and I'm encouraged to reach back to NoName's album and the music is just more involved or invokes more feeling while delivering similar content and themes. To that point, Rap has to be careful to not fall into that Talib, Lupe other "conscious" rapper trap of "hey, what I'm talking about matters. So like it :unimpressed:". It can get heavy handed at times, to me anyway, and I like shyt like that often times. But the album is conceptual in that way so it's fine.

This has some repeatable spots though. I'll give more chances for sure cause she's a good enough rapper to warrant it.

Her pen game is on point.

She does a good job of not getting too wordy. I think Lupe is so good of a lyricist that he gets up his own ass with his verses and wordplay. Not all the time but it has plagued him, I think Rap strikes a good balanxe. Even if her Hov influence can be blatant in the way she delivers her barz. She's pretty good.

That verse she had in Kendrick's Complexion is still :whew:

Yeah damn shame 9th fukked over GQ too for Rap:francis:

She kill me with the Jay sucking and she just sounds so bland.
:whoa:GQ still Jamla. Pretty sure he's the only original member besides Rapsody still on the label.

He's dropping projects still but I guess you're right his push isn't the same

The production on here is so trash, I see the name "9th Wonder" scrolling to the bottom of this page, please tell me he didn't handle the bulk of this mess?
9th did the beat with the Phil Collins sample flip, the joint with GZA, the track with Cole, and the track with JID and SiR. I think that's it.

E14 is one of my favorite albums :wow:

What happened to Halo and Act Proof?
Bro, I been trying to find Halo for a while now. he's like Legacy. Gone in the wind. Guy always kind of moved in silence.

Genuinely great human being. Last I saw him he was doing a show and he and Khrysis crashed to not have to pay for a hotel. He dropped a really dope album called Mansa Musa in 2014, and since then? I dunno. It's a shame too because his bars and his flow stepped up so damn much on that album from Heatwriter and Blind Poet.

One day he was just kind of, gone? No one mentioned a fall out. He's never been on social media. So I'm not really sure. I tried his number a couple years ago and it didn't work anymore. Someone gave me what they thought was an updated one, but that didn't work either.

As far as Act Proof... both dudes kind of dipped away for a minute. Enigma more so. I think some life/family stuff took priority. But they are seemingly back together for the first time since 2013, and they were on the new Jamla compilation album on 2 joints, the first one below being my favorite joint on that entire album. IMO Sundown has one of the most unique flows in the game. It's actually pretty hard to memorize and rap along to his verses. Median is like that too.

Sundown's a great dude. I've only met Enigma once though. Sundown said to expect more music, but it's coming up on a year and I haven't heard any news. They both seem happy though.

Need to Exist was one of my favorite joints of all of 2018. Kev Brown beat.

Kash produced this one

EDIT: Oh I think GQ may have dropped a new version of E 14th under the radar?

BTW I'm pretty sure most producers think sampling Phil Collins is played out, but It's be curious to know some takes on it? @SoulController @TEKBEATZ @head shots101 @darealvelle @Youseenmywork @Urbanmiracle @amillerjr @pawdalaw @MurderToCassette @Double Burger With Cheese @Ace of the Metropolitan I wanna say I've never heard that specific part of the song chopped up before. Are my ears basic for thinking this flip is pretty fresh? I wanna say I don't even hear many vocal samples from this, and mostly just the melody being sampled. :jbhmm:

I personally never heard it be chopped that way. And that is why 9th chop game is unmatched imo. He can take song and chop it up from multiple parts and create a new composition. Like you will recognize the flip but the parts he take are not the obvious 4/8 bar open loop.
