Album is flames, I'll be replaying a few times for sure.

That remains my favorite R.R. episode. There are other amazing ones but the fact he does 4 beats, so quickly, has fun in the process, and they're actually creative flips that are made with a rapper in mind? That last part is important. 9th doesn't really make beats for beat battles. he makes beats that are ready to go for a rapper, and that's one of the cool things I like about his episode. Yes...he's been doing the same soul samples with a lot of the same drums for almost 20 years now, but I will always enjoy his beats.9th is just extremely dope at chopping and arranging samples and patterns off them. No matter what the song is known or unknown. And he formulates his ideas so quick. I probably watch his rhythm roulette at least a few times a month. That's just such a dope look into his process. And that other joint where he was in the studio chopping one on his laptop. Big fan of him minus his come on Nas gimmick lol
I've always liked his chop game because he definitely will re-arrange things and keep a lot of the musicality intact. But I've never heard anyone compliment it that much. Everyone rags on his drums but rarely do his chop skills get praised.
Khrysis as a counter example will do the same thing but it sounds less melodic (most of the time) and there are more interruptions and stutters. Like it sounds...choppier, to state the obvious. But that's a stylistic choice that Khrysis prefers. 9th has mentioned before that he likes to make chops that sound like loops.
Are there any other examples of 9th beats like this that stick out in your mind? I'm not trying to bug you, but I'm curious now what some of your favorite beats are of his. I thought his 3rd beat (out of 4) on his Rhythm Roulete episode did a great job of doing what you said. He takes 2 totally different parts of the song and combined them.
Time-coded for 6:17 and then at 8:48 he does another flip of the same song for a 2nd beat.

Nina is fire but that metal gate line was trash.
