off the bat..when the beat switches on the title track...those two bars on the beat with the abrupt ending were really Kendrickish...like blatantly. i liked it tho. Overall cadence and style is definitely influenced. I've been listening to Rapsody for a minute and I noticed the shift.

Another example, listen to the opening of Sassy before she starts the first verse.

Then YouTube Jay Rock “Vice City” and listen to the first 30 seconds and listen to Kendrick’s hook.

9th has talked about her and him trying to take things from TPAB

He probably thinks that's gonna get her critical acclaim and such.

Problem is Kendrick had Interscope to help him

Rapsody don't got that. But she might get Acclaim

Especially seeing as projects like this with this production get rated high(tho I don't think it should. But my opinion)

Her music is just boring to me. Boring as fukk to be exact.

Skyzoo is a good comparison, cause he's solid, but he has no charisma so I never was big on his music because it's just so monotone sounding.

I fukk with Noname a lot more than Rap, and Noname has a laid back and mundane style, but her music is far more interesting to me... and her shyt just sounds better.

Rapsody is not a boring rapper though. I like Skyzoo but I get it if people find him too rigid, Rap on the other hand is a very balanced MC and has great delivery. I just think her beat selection can be a little better / more consistent and she needs more melodies to really add replay value

Interscope doesn't get you critical acclaim, chill. And just from glancing around Laila's Wisdom is getting very good reviews so far so...

Nor is a label going to make your shyt sell (enough to matter) if the people not rocking with it. See: Vic Mensa, Game, etc.

This is a huge album in the overall context of hiphop. May not sell great, but name a female emcees album with as much depth and reach.

Very solid album. Only down side was the lil hook on the song chrome but this was dope.

Why did they tweak the beat for OooWee? The original sounded better IMO

I don't hear much difference except the fact they took some of the fuzz or vinyl like grit off of it. What are you referring to?

Album's dope...I could go for another listen.

The 9th wonder vibe makes it sound like Jean Grae meets Freda Gatz from Empire



On that song with Busta....That line where she says she's aiming at the top while ya'll worrying about Miley Cyrus was definatly aimed at Nicki
