I would rather take less for Kawhi than the Lakers might offer. I am completely fine if Kawhi wants to go home to LA and signs with the Lakers next summer.

But I don’t believe in trading him there. I’d rather a superteam form indirectly than have a hand in it.

That said, I don’t believe in shipping Kawhi to a bad team with no good return out of spite. If Toronto or any team has a good offer, so be it. I just don’t like the idea of sending him to like, Brooklyn as a fukk you.

I think we are better than that. And it would send the wrong message to potential free agents who would consider San Antonio in the future.
