I remember my last girl friend who was a great girl...(i woulda probably held her down if she didnt move overseas) would try to act like I was trying to father her when I was just trying to guiide her a little bit. NOTE! She was only 18 so that probably explains it. She generally heeded but had a hostile personality at times. I'd try to get her to do things like

Stop ordering unhealthy, outside food
Cleaning up after her apartment more effectively/often
Spending less money (relates to the first point) even if she was spending the money buying me shyt (her dad was rich and spoiled her)
Things related to her career goals/school (I was tryna build with her so I wanted to make sure she was on that right track)
Most importantly the concept of self-efficacy...often she would lose drive when trying to accomplish shyt (ex: staying motivated to work out, slim down a bit and stay fit --> eventually she stopped bytchin when I would bring her to the gym though. But it was ana uphill battle lol)
