lmao at rating presidencies you weren't alive to witness. Yes, I realize you can tell the WOAT's easily, but unless you're insanely adept at history, it's hard to evaluate shyt you weren't alive for. Presidents aren't hip hop songs.

People can't even rate the current president or two presidents back accurately. Obama a corporate puppet who sold out the people but because he ain't Trump all of a sudden he's a good president. :russ: People's standards have really fallen.

They think Joe Biden represents their interests also. :snoop:

Anyway, the gold standard for president is Lincoln/FDR. The shyt standard is Buchanan/Trump. Obama's closer to gold than shyt, for all his flaws. Can't say the same for most of the people who've held the office of president.

anyway I would give Obama a 7/10, a solid game manager type of President who I thought could have a stubbornly Conservative streak at too many times for my liking but left the country in a decent place when he departed office.

Obama's foreign policy record is very good IMO.
Explain this

The Saudi/Yemen war started under Obama.

Libya is a failed state now because the administration took out Gadafi.

The drone strikes.

The big plus for the oligarchs was the trade deal in Asia.

What makes you think im ignorant?

History books will never be able to describe what it was like to live in the Trump era. Don't be ridiculous.

Obama got elected twice and passed major legislation and got the cap shot of the #1 international terrorist in American history... and he did while being unapologetically black.

That alone =

Explain this

The Saudi/Yemen war started under Obama.

Libya is a failed state now because the administration took out Gadafi.

The drone strikes.

The big plus for the oligarchs was the trade deal in Asia.

1. That doesn't fall on Obama, that's just more ME fukkery. Maybe he takes blame for US arm sales to Saudi but that's more of a geopolitical consideration (considering Iran and all)

2. Fair enough, although that was a decision by a coalition of states to take out Gaddafi. Definitely a stain on Obama's record

3. I'm willing to be corrected on this. Civilian casualties are always regrettable. But may I ask why the concept of drone strikes are so reprehensible to some? Is it the trial in absentia and killing of enemy combatants (grey area, especially when there is no declaration of war)? And what would the alternative be in order to take such threats out?

4. Wasn't a fan of the TPP... But I think it was a byproduct of Obama pivoting away from ME towards Asia, which was one of the cores of his foreign policy platform (another core: international cooperation as opposed to unilateral actions). I think Obama correctly ID'd China as a strategic threat.

Definitely open to re-evaluating this. His successes? Repairing international relations post Bush. The Iran deal. Not being pushed by neo-cons to cross the "red line" in Syria. Cuba. Winding down Iraq. The Paris Climate Deal.

This is my personal opinion:

Top 4: Lincoln, FDR, Washington, Teddy Roosevelt

Indisputable for various reasons. Lincoln saved the Union and ended slavery. FDR... WW2 and the New Deal. Washington set an excellent example for his successors to follow. Teddy... The first progressive president, with many effective policies.

After that it's debatable. On my shortlist: Jefferson, Madison, Monroe, Polk, Truman, Eisenhower, LBJ, Reagan (for cacs), Clinton and Obama. Eliminated Jackson and Wilson for being racist fukks. Bolded are my picks.

I'm also reading his book now and finding that a lot of what I watched during his first term has been squeezed out by subsequent Republican actions - or by the Trump Administration's historically bad revenge campaign.
