Man Mary J is probably my favorite artist of all time. She has been relevant literally my entire life pumping out hits. I was born in 1990 and my mom wore her music out from 1994 through 2002. Then I would hear her on the radio/BET all through high school from 2004-2008. Stopped hearing her once I got to college. That's about when she started falling off for me.

I play her music religiously. That My Life Album is in my top 20. I hate to admit that she's not a great vocalist at all. The Queen of straining. I rate her a 5 or 6 at best. In her prime, a very strong 6.

I love Mary so much. Got my mama through some tough times. My mama used to sing her heart out on I'm Goin Down. Beautiful memories.
