Yall tripping talking about "Bama Fatigue" Alabama/Saban is honestly probably the biggest draw in College Football

Look at the numbers their regular season games do and compare them to everyone else

1. College football is still a very southern heavy thing. And it's not huge up north, outside of the midwest. On top of this, it was a very regional matchup.

2015 was Ohio State and Oregon. That's a wide geographic range.

2. Cable TV for championship games is stupid, IMO. As a kid I would've never dreamed title games would be on cable.

3. Clemson isn't a household "brand".

Last year the game damn near beat the Texas vs USC game in ratings which was on broadcast television. Broadcast vs cable isn't so much the issue.

15.8 was the rating, not the number of viewers. The number of viewers was 25.67 million which is still a ton of people but was actually down 23 percent from last year which was 33.4 million and the biggest number is the 18-49 rating where it was down from an 11.0 to an 8.3. That means younger people who buy products weren't fukkin with it nearly as much as Ohio St. and Oregon. Just wanted to point out that it's still way bigger than college basketball lol :russ:

Here's the link: Monday cable ratings: CFP championship down but still dominant

They need to get rid of that bullshyt New Year's Eve semifinal date. That really fukked them over this year. lol

This Hancock jabroni delusional as fukk I hate these redneck ass CFB powers that be they always butcher up shyt that should be so simple. :camby:

The playoffs missed the ohio state stimulus package:wow:

Cord-Cutters are fukking up their bottom line. They need to smarten up and move the games to the local networks instead of cable. I don't see why they can't air the games on ABC if Disney/ESPN own the rights.

For comparison (stolen from twitter)

Wisconsin-Duke (CBS) 17.1 Million

Alabama-Clemson (ESPN) 15.8 Million

Warriors-Cavs Game 6 (ABC) 20.5 Million

Royals-Mets Game 5 (FOX) 17.2 Million

WOW

THAT is bad

If Michigan or Notre Dame makes it next year, the ratings will be back. You want ratings? Have a Michigan vs. Notre Dame championship game.

Plus, people are just tired of Bama. OSU versus Oregon had two different regions plus a squad that beat Jameis versus one that upset Bama. People were like :ohh:

Having the game on ESPN has done nothing good for its ratings. They've hovered around the 15-17 ratings number since they started covering the games.

people forget how small those kkk states are. alabama and south carolina have less than 4.8 million people each. ohio is 12 million people and ohio state has a larger alumni base and fans all over the midwest.

That's broadcast tv vs cable to be fair

yikes. that's awful. didn't realize it was that bad being on cable
