Yes, the modern republican party has been taken over by radicals. Tell me why the democrats are following them headfirst by not attempting to combat right wing framing on immigration? Yeah, yeah I know "both sides" has a bad rep and a lot of it is deserved. But I truly do not understand how people don't see this
That 'Overton Window" is a mothafukka. Notice a lot of those posters spend their time bytching about migrants and LGBTQ people as if that is the extent of the leftist platform. They literally latch onto the right-wing pet issues and use that as a reason to knock any left-leaning thought.

The 1986 immigration reform bill signed into law by Reagan would never be signed today because it would never make it through Congress. Its also why repeated attempts by Bush 43, Obama and Biden also failed.

You know what's interesting about costs in the city? They rose when a rich Republican business man became mayor and used public domain to allow developers to start building luxury apartments. Most of which are still only half occupied to this day.

Capitalism will always trend to the right. The Democrat's corporatism and imperialism keeps the spectrum of political discourse narrow and does nothing to stop the rightward trend. There is little to no actual leftist politics in the mainstream.
