It has been almost a year since I passed the exam, and I still haven’t linked with a company. Most of the companies around my way training schedules don’t work with my work hrs. The fees are fukking crazy. I’m not sure if it is even worth doing part time.

Where are you? What is your schedule like?

I'm doing it part-time and it's working out ok so far. Working primarily with buyers (they seem to love working with me) but buyers are flaky and inventory is on the low side. Trying to get listings now. I do like it though.

I definitely wouldn't leave teaching (I'm at 6 figures now with about 3 hrs of per session a week :blessed: )unless I started making serious bank.

I’m in Buffalo, NY, and work 9 to 5. At my previous job I was working 9 to 6. Plus I’m in a MBA course. I talked to someone today and they said they might be able to work with my schedule.

I took the classes and passed the licensing exam early last year, but let it go by the wayside. I was affiliated with a broker, had to pay all these damn fees, but it was a small brokerage and I didn't feel I had any support. Everyone was already experienced and there wasn't any training or development. I still want to get into the transaction coordinator side of it, but it's hard without experience.

I just signed with a brokerage. It's great cuz they offer training in a classroom setting and webinar. Plus they have an intranet site with everything you need. The support and atmosphere is excellent. They have this thing called duty where basically you request a block and you have the option to either come in the office or do it remotely and any lead that comes in the office whether by phone, internet or walk in automatically goes to you :blessed:. I did have to come up off of basically $500 for start up costs, e&o insurance, and for access to the MLS but they offered to front a portion of it and defer another part til I got my first closing. I'd rather just pay up front :yeshrug:. Got my first listing. It's a run down house tho. My fingers are crossed and I have 2 more hopeful leads this week. For those of you that are experienced....what methods do you use to get motivated sellers :jbhmm:?

Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
I still have my realtors license but don’t use it in NYC anymore. Had a stupid broker who sucked the life out of me. Imma wait till I get this career poppin and then I’ll try to put real estate back in my schedule again!

Do you have a story? :pachaha:

I was never an agent but I remember we were doing house buying tours and we were putting deals in front of some group of investors.

One of them said actually said, this won’t work in my area while we were in their zipcode.

After some grilling ... this troglodyte said it wouldn’t work

In his building :deadmanny:
