I think every state has it. But to get it you gotta carry in your passport or birth certificate + social security card or some other proof of citizenship, to the DMV. I guess for some people it's a hassle so they just renew the DL without upgrading it

I never got the enhanced ID from NY (allows you to drive into Canada without a passport), because they got some extra requirements too

Yeah i just remember going to the DMV over 10 yrs ago early in the AM to beat the line then after that was smooth sailing

I have an Enhanced ID (which is a more "enhanced" version of REAL ID lol).

My state (New York) is one of 5 states to offer Enhanced IDs. I can travel to Canada and Mexico by land or sea without a passport.

Nah I got mine and was too lazy to do the Real ID process my least renewal here in California so still got the OG
