oh and what I actually hated about the attitude era was that everybody and their mother became a wrestling fan overnight

all the sudden people with no real knowledge of the sport were acting like they had been watching it for years. i'll never forget the idiot in middle school who told me the new age outlaws won the tag titles at wrestlemania 5. this was before the internet was really popping off so i literally brought my PWI almanac to school the next day just to show him he was a dumbass

Another complaint about the AE is that it ended too many careers far too early in the pursuit of the mighty dollar. ECW :trash: I watched the Mick Foley doc and I respect Foley but...he gained his legacy by getting brain damage. I just can't fukk with it anymore. So I'm very anti-hardcore wrestling.

:mjlol:

That woulda pissed me off too though. fukking Wrestlemania 5? Road Dogg and Billy around at the same time as The Rockers? :mindblown: You ought to have smacked that fool

On topic: 2000-2003 WWF/E is the GOAT wrestling so I can't co-sign this thread

ehh just like with any era with as many great moments its filled with crap as well.

a lot of shyt was overbooked thanks to Russo but i think WWE attitude era midcard doesn't get the love it should, it had a lot of solid talent. Val Venis, D'Lo, X-Pac, Shamrock, Test, hell Shane McMahon..one of the underated heel runs in Big Bossman

WCW was even worse. NWO storyline went to shyt, World Orders always popping up every week, the same old :flabbynsick: wrestlers main eventing, finger poke of death, fukking up Goldberg's run, the whole gamut.

nWo should have ended in Spring/Summer 98. Never should have split into two factions, reunited, and reunite again with fukking Jarrett.

Nash was getting crazy strong babyface reactions; he should've left nWo and just had another faction called the wolfpack or outsiders. Low key, the original debut to Syxx getting canned was the greatest faction ever...The WOLFPACK promos with the 3 of them (Hall Nash Syxx) were SO EFFIN GOOD just sonning fools.

It had some of the highest ratings, but at the same time it sorta strayed away from wrestling; becoming more about the entertainment factor.

I agree. Granted I missed the full Attitude Era, but when I go back I see alot of corny shyt and wrestlers I give 0 shyts about. People call the early 90s and 80s the gimmick era, but gimmicks were heavy during that time too, it just rode the fine line of reality.

Give me 87-94 and 96-98 for life :manny:

The bad stuff? Far and inbetween. You got to be real nitpicky...you know the low brow stuff. Oddities and that shyt...too much X Pac....Stephanie screeching. ..boring Cripple H 20 min rambling promos...Henry Mae Young...D Lo almost killing Droz....Vince using the Divas as his escort fantasy onscreen....

In my opinion, WCW 1997 and WWF 2000 were the two best years of wrestling product I've ever seen. So while I do see what OP is saying, it's still hard to shake that opinion out of my mind.
