1999 =/= the entire Attitude Era. When people talk bad about AE they usually point out just that year while ignoring all the piff the WWE gave us in 2000 - early 2001. Not to mention late 97/98.

Though 1999 did give us our fukkery filled moments...

IT'S ME AUSTIN!!!

...aww sonofabittch...

IT WAS ME AUSTIN!!! IT WAS ME ALLLL ALLOONNNGGGG

Don't consider WCW as part of the Attitude Era, that is purely a WWF thing. As for the thread itself, I don't agree, sure the overall quality of the matches were great until the WCW defections started. 97-98 were littered with classic storylines from either Bret, Austin, HBK, Vince, Rock, HHH, and Mankind. 99 was where stuff became too over the top , a Russo trash TV went into overdrive and match quality was at it's weakest. 2000 is where the match quality was at it's best and kinda took away from WWF's storylines were starting to lose effectiveness as complacency started to sett in and Steph's run as head of creative began

1. It was that good, generally speaking> The bad was really bad. i watched WWE and WCW during that time.
2. 80s and early 90s wrestling was awesome and my favorite. I can't speak on the 70s, I've only seen matches after the fact.
3.80/90s>>>>late 90s>>>Now. There are things about this time and stuff that they're doing that I like but I was more thoroughly entertained during those earlier periods. The last year>>>the last few years (very mediocre). Not sure what changed backstage recently but i like it, for the most part.

we all agree 2007-2010 is the worst of all time right? outside of a few matches and moments it was the most boring shyt ever

:smugdraper: I stopped watching WWF for a which after Benoit's death. Because you knew they were going to sugar coat the product to avoid everyone leaving. ":whoa: Don't leave, this shyt was one off."

Work rate was terrible in the Attitude Era, but the storylines >>>>

Even the Higher Power bullshyt was a good storyline. McMahon was kind of a disappointment, but the internal logic of the story kinda made sense in an Attitude Era way :manny:

It was definitely a hell of a lot less predictable than wrestling is today, and Raw felt more episodic. Aside from the Daniel Bryan saga, I can stop watching Raw for weeks and come back and still follow along. Attitude Era storylines were so intricate that missing an episode would cause you to lose track of how storylines were progressing. That's what made it so addicting.
