Man, what???? Around the time of Aaliyah's passing, D.C was preparing to drop "survivor" and "independent woman", which were world wide smashes that launched the group into superstardom, and positioned Bey as the future pop megastar she would eventually become. What in the hell would Aaliyah have done to stop all that? Aaliyah was the one destined for "black community" famous, and probably had already peaked as an artist.

The better question would be would Ciera have become as famous as she did, considering she jacked Aaliyah's style almost to a tee, and not so coincidentally used Missy Elliot to help rocket her career. If you notice that camp tried very hard to replace Aaliyah after her passing with artists like Tweet and whatnot..

Another better comparison would be Ashanti (similar name too)...similar look, cant dance, light in the ass singer, coc00ned within a crew of rappers and artists (murder inc) like the Virginia Crew of Tim/Magoo/Genuine/Elliot.
