Always thought this shyt was trash.

Hot Karl was a 00s era indie white rapper that never got on.

Had some hot tracks produced by 9th Wonder. I thought he was black til I saw his picture...

DJ Quik wasted a classic beat on this fukking clown.:snoop:

Nah...for many reasons. They were more real hip-hop/NYC hip-hop than "nerd rap" they just happened to record on labels like landspeed and fondle em. I still fukks with Eastern Conference...Mr. Eon is atill a dope rapper to me although now I heard he hustles real estate.

Yeah I feel the same way about them, they had a really good run of great music

And now...for the most indie rap nerd rap underground rap track...of all time!

So...underground...there is not even info on this and the artist that did this isn't even properly listed.

It isn't Jurassic 5...
I downloaded this from Limewire back in teh day and this was labeled as a Shapeshifters track...but it's not.

People say it's Dilated Peoples..but it's not.

So basically this is Unknown- Mindstate

Kind of dope though.

man I could barely tolerate that shyt back then so I could only imagine how it sounds now...i think the only one i could somewhat tolerate is Sage Francis since his shyt leaned more to spoken word than just straight up rap

I was never a fan of the whole, but to me, this was hip-hop last hoorah as far as the 90's feel/sound, a lot of these cats combined w/ the Rawkus movement, and then J5 out in the west and Quannum Records had a slew of talent that they pumped out for years. The bulk of the emo, super scientific stuff was weird as a whole, I'll say that.

I will say that you can't really put MC Paul Barman in this group. While the king of nerd rap, he rhymed a palindrome, was down w/ Deltron and Masta Ace. Dude put out some highly entertaining work.

Side note to this thread....the absolute worst of these 2000's backpackers was Esoteric.

Just foul garbage:scusthov:
Lyrically, he really wasn't bad but his voice was :trash:

And I'm not sure why folks in here are giving Copywrite a pass when all that tough guy punchline battle rapper shyt went out the window when he got knocked out on multiple occasions on camera :pachaha:

I always thought Yak Ballz was nice, his producer Mondee had some fire. WTF happened to him and Cage? I was a fiend for underground back then, checking sandboxautomatic.com weekly for the new releases to find on MP3. But listening back now, so much of it was basura. I always thought Natural Elements were really nice, but they were around back in 95 so maybe that's not a part of this conversation.
My Claim was very slept on
