The shift ACTUALLY started a LONG time ago. Ima just leave this here. Im not saying its 100% factual. I am saying that where there's smoke there's fire. Use your common sense and keep in mind how powerful and influential music itself and the artists can be if you choose to watch. Keep white supremacy and systemic oppression in mind. Keep the fact that media propaganda is a wing of systemic oppression in mind. Keep in mind the portrayal of blacks in the media and the negative stereotypes that seems to always be at the forefront for the world to see. Keep in mind why 90% of POPULAR MAINSTREAM music aimed at the black youth by artists with the same skin color as them, promotes and glorifies a destructive lifestyle. Keep in mind what is perhaps the most powerful and effective vehicle being used to broadcast the image of the black race across the world: hiphop.

Do you honestly believe there was a 'secret meeting?'

If I go to platform nine and 3 quarters, will I end up in Hogwarts?

Are u unaware of the prison industrial complex, the bombing of Black WallStreet, The Tuskegee Experiment, redlining and the intentional pumping of drugs & guns into the black communities? Have u read the thread about the plans to downplay slavery in Texas schoolbooks?

All those things do not prove the "secret meeting" in any way, and mentioning them is irrelevant. There's documented evidence for most of what you mentioned. Zero for this secret meeting

Thats why i said to keep an "open mind" and to use your commen sense and to keep all of those things in mind. What, you think that they would announce something like that to the world??:dead: And i said that it may not be 100% factual, but where there's smoke there's fire. Hiphop going from a tool to motivate and inspire us to a tool of destruction was by design and not merely a coincidence. Yes i believe in the intentional manipulation of hiphop. Media propaganda is an extremely effective wartime tactic, and currently the image of the black race is under HEAVY assault. We dont see it that way tho. We call it "just entertainment".

There is one particular region heavily endorsing this. :mjpls:

Mainstream got lyricism and storytellers again

Lots of creative independent/underground artists I notice that don't get mentioned enough. I like the diversity today than the diversity in the 90s tbh.

im not even a j cole guy but i heard one song by him the other day about hands in the air or some shyt and he was really saying something

i feel like a lot of rap fans just dont search for what they really want anymore, i have a few people i listen too but sometimes ill go on a hunt for something new

:mindblown: Who the fukk are they impressing with this shyt? Who's buying this shyt.

Even the Vince Staples record was disappointing to me. A fukking long ass album with just weird ass beats and 808s and I'm like, "what the fukk, Hip-Hop".
I felt the exact same way. Like when is he gonna start like...really rapping. He was sleep walking over those sleepy ass beats

bro have a listen to retch

Ummm you know Retch is from Hackensack, New Jersey right? Thats a uber safe suburb.

He just spit that corny ironic meme street shyt to entice hipster internet nerds who don't know anything about the actual geographic locations of these artists.

Still a fan tho :ehh:, but it should be pretty evident he is not about that :upsetfavre:
