I really don't like kendrick, but kendrick is a superior lyricist and it's not even close.

Drake has improved as a lyricist in recent years, but he's always been more about directness, rather than the lexical curlicues that tend to mark a rapper as a "real lyricist.
Kendrick is superior in every imaginable way and it's coming from a Drake stan

I definitely agree, Drake has some good one lines but that's where it stops.
Also kendrick's imagery is way better and way complex, he can say a lot of things with few words, he literally paints pictures with his lyrics, something that Drake can't do.

As for Lupe, nobody can fukk with his metaphors

I don't expect you all to agree...but...the guy is talented with the SKILL of putting words together, flipping phrases, punchlines, and general wit.

Its easy to pass his music off, especially the lead singles, but on his features and album cuts, its hard to really deny the man his credit.

Its a nuanced argument you have to appreciate. He understands diction to a degree FEW other rappers truly do.

Going back to Room for Improvement, theres so many slick lines and hidden wordplay that often gets overlooked by people who claim to really appreciate the craft of rapping.

If you're struggling to find my point, just listen to Drake's verses or better yet, read the lyrics as you listen to the songs.

The guy is pretty elite when it comes to the structure and presentation of his lines.

I used to think that Drake got a lot of unwarranted hate here. I wasn't a fan by any stretch of the imagination, but I recognize the talent on Display in verses like Stop Scheming. I listened to TML around the time it dropped and found it meh. Didn't get around to listening to Take Care until about a week ago. Lot of mediocre verses on there. Stuff like Stay Scheming is really more of an anomaly for him. He's average I'd say. He can be great, but is very inconsistent.

Kendrick on his albums put himself in an elite league, Drake is still playing in the little leagues, trying to release some hot one liners but he doesn't have the talent to release something lyrical in his albums

I'm not a fan of Drake, but you never see me calling him trash. Dude can rap and has talent.

Everyone praises his Versace freestyle but what was lyrically impressive about it?

Of all of the songs he has dropped and been on THIS year which was a great display of lyricism?
