TYRONE GA!
Yessir!

Know your worth and ask as many questions as possible.
I took a new job last October and got a 33k raise in the process. I tell these recruiters off da rip that I'm well compensated before they even get to the details. Getting paid VP/Director pay without the responsibility :ahh:

Right jobs as contractors not employees...big difference. Most restaurants use a service like Door Dash or UberEat. There are no benefits, limited rights and no guaranteed income. The restaurants & delivery services pass on the expenses to the driver (gas, vehicle cost & maintenance etc) and the consumer (additional fees).

Huge win for restaurants

I can tell you now Uber is losing its ass badly right now due to lack of drivers. A lot of people have caught on to how wack the pay is doing that shyt when it's all said and done. Uber sent me an email saying if I complete 3 trips THIS WEEK , they will pay me $100 extra dollars. You can do three trips in an hour, I was damn near tempted to do it but then I remembered I don't need to be tearing my car up to basically make no money off of it.

Thirsty ass recruiters and they want to lowball you.

These companies aren’t hiring, they just wana test the market and see what ppl are asking for.

They love not mentioning anything about the pay beforehand unless you ask them and then get offended when you. I'd rather not waste your time or mine in not finding out that the pay ain't it once I'm at the interview.

Look at the Costco example. Yes self checkout is becoming the norm, but the demand for online grocery pick up has increased as well. You need workers to fill those orders so it's creating jobs in it's place.

The majority of businesses and food industries out here just don't have the foot traffic like that to justify the cost of going the automation route. Look at an example of somewhere like Subway where you only need 2-3 to run an entire store and even then they just don't get the foot traffic like that to replace those workers via automation.
Online orders probably make up to around 20% of a grocers revenue. You are not going to need or pay the same amount of cashiers you had in the past to just simply pick up a few items to put in a cart. That's what I mean. It's not a 1:1 replacement which will cause a big problem in the long run.

How do you think we got MAGA crowd? You had an entire demographic and generation of blue collar folk that built their entire livelihoods on working in a factory for 30 years then retiring on a pension. Hundreds of thousands of car manufacturing jobs eliminated due to automation and a move to EVs which again didn't require nowhere near the same amount of people to build compared to old days. Entire plants shut down. And those jobs were nowhere near replaced 1:1. They didn't say hey guys come build these new EVs

Since COVID your seeing more and more self service kiosks. It's not just about profits anymore. The health risk aspect is in it now too.

Still doesn't change the fact that until businesses come through with the automation to replace the workers, you're going to have to bump up the pay and working conditions to get them to come back. If they didn't need the workers right now, then they wouldn't be begging and pleading with them to come back and safe their business.

All the years of low pay and mistreatment is finally catching up with a lot of these industries.

i saved just about ALL of my stimulus and one and a half years of unemployment.
other than rent, bills, groceries and some creature comforts for the crib it all went in the bank.
went away for a weekend at Lake Placid in the winter and to the Rockaways in the summer.
didn't break the bank with some lavish getaway, fukk getting on a plane. we just drove.
luckily she has a great job so we aren't hurting financially, we are actually doing better than
we ever have. not to say we are wealthy but we don't have to worry about rent or nothing.
we have been there before and it is not fun.

i'm starting welding classes in january and i'm really excited about it.
from what i understand there has been a shortage in welders well before covid came around, even more so now.
besides the excellent pay and being able to essentially write my own check, the idea of solitary work appeals to me.
travel would also probably be a part of the job and having work pay for travel is the shyt.
could also use this new skill to create sculptures on my free time.

Germany just now started talking about cutting off pandemic payments to the unvaxxed. they have been paying people to stay home this ENTIRE TIME!

you get one bar.

:unimpressed:
Im a welder fabricator. We couldn't find good guys before the labor shortage. Idk what they'll do when I leave, no exaggeration they've been trying to find someone who can do what I do for over a year with no success. And it's not really a wage issue as I'm in the bay and the pay is competitive.

I literally pull up to just about any city and now thanks to indeed I have a job in one day. It's too easy for me now.
Ive built many sculptures btw. Check Wings over water, on YouTube

I saw a post on facebook the other day that basically said use your pto time, take your breaks and lunches, etc, and there were idiots in the comments talkin about "I signed up to be a team player. If i have to work harder, oh well. My job pays for my life."

I hate those gung ho, "git er done" ass idiots. They type of fools who would love to die on the job.

Dude at my job died with 400 hours of leave on his books.:francis: I been taking 4 day weekend trips to burn my leave.

If You could stop working in Fast Food or hospitality for ANY other job that didn't include physical labor and make the same money or more....why would you ever not leave, especially with how people been acting these past 18 months?

A lot of folks around here dipped out of fast food and went over to Metro and the government as both are hurting bad for employees. On the federal government side, we been getting hit with a heavy wave of retirements so you got the pick of the litter on what you want to do entry level wise. If you gonna get cussed out, at least you get paid decently for it.
