Great post

A lot of McDonald's in the hoods brought the touch screen machine in, nobody ever used it and instead talked to the cashier, and now with covid nobody want's to touch the dirty ass screen with their finger. I went in there for a has brown, all 4 touch screens empty and it's 2 cashiers with a long line

People aren't quitting those kinds of jobs because of Vax Mandates :mjlol:

People don’t want to work for pennies while billionaires earn record profits.

:francis:

This is why people are quitting those jobs^^^^^ The mistreatment and low pay isn't worth it

I know 2 people that did. I work in Talent Acquisitions

I know some people who did as well.

The poster you're responding to is overlooking the fact that a lot of people have been frustrated and disgruntled with their jobs for years and the vaccine mandate was the final push that some of them needed to make them walk away.

That's just a republican talking point. Reality is automation has been a vu bigger threat that they just don't know how to deal with
Yep, plus outsourcing, I'm applying right now for a remote position for a company in Washintong DC, so far my two interviews have been with a girl in rumania and have one coming up with a girl in India and my current job is at an American company that opened up an office here to handle the production side of the bussiness which is the one with the majority of the employees.

Getting people to take those shyt jobs has been going on for months you contrarian fukk. Y'all keep pushing this dumb narrative only to be proven wrong again and again just like with the Southwest issue.

People been hinting at this for years. These high turnover jobs with low wage, bad benefits and heavy workload are bad for the economy. Due to inflation everything going up except wages. Who would want to work these demanding jobs when the income is not livable in today’s world and outweighs their expenses. You in poverty living check to check. People talking about robots like McDonald’s can barely keep the ice cream machine working. What makes you think they gonna be upkeep multiple expensive robots in multiple locations. That’s not even logical.

I made this same point years ago :salute:

shyt is not getting any better anytime soon either, the service industry and all within it is fed up and had enough.

Time will tell what happens with that, but in the meantime prices won't be going down and I bet pay stagnates even further. Especially now that most big box employers are making a way with less staff. Why the fukk do they care to close business at 8pm...they already made all the profit they was going to make for the day by 5-6pm anyway :manny:

They should raise their wages, if you're business model relies on poverty wages you shouldn't own a business

It's why I found it laughable that businesses were bold enough to go on TV complaining about the increased unemployment like they expect workers to work for them on the cheap.

One of my favorite restaurants moved to 15 per hour and suddenly low and behold they stopped having turnover and hiring issues. It's that god damn simple.

If the technology was there, then restaurants and other industries wouldn't be out here begging workers to come back now would they?

People are acting as if we're 5 or even years away from automation taking place when that's just not the case. Even then, those jobs are going to create new jobs in its place that don't necessarily require special skills to do it.

Nikkas think Iron Man about to take their jobs like that shyt don't cost 50 employee salaries worth:mjlol:

You got businesses out here that can't even afford up to date equipment, yet people in this thread think that they will be able to afford automation and robots :mjlol:
I think yall miss the point with automation. It's not AI Iron Man style robots or nothing. There's a lot of in between. Stories like this are becoming more and more common due to COVID risk factor:

Mike Kelly, a 58-year-old native of Pittsburgh with a wife and three children, made about $25 an hour, plus health insurance and a pension plan, as a toll collector on the Pennsylvania Turnpike.

Even before the pandemic, the state had intended to install a high-tech, no-cash system in 2022. But when COVID-19 shutdowns reduced both traffic on the turnpike and the revenue it yielded, the state moved up its plans by 18 months, laying off some 500 toll collectors and support staff last June.
In wake of COVID, employers step up automation and use of robots

Those toll collector jobs are not coming back in any shape or form.

Even more and more Costcos are putting in selfcheckouts. That's 5-10 less cashiers you need to hire and keep just maybe 1-3 to maintain the stations in case of any issues.

It used to be just a expense VS profit thing, but COVID added an extra incentive to it now.

Every industry will get hit different. But hospitality and food service industry will get hit big(is getting hit) . You may not move to a complete robot workforce but the amount of people you need to hire will be much less. This is going to be a big problem

Just look at the car manufacturing industry and what happend to those people

robbin season coming soon :francis:
My advice to the coli brehs who fall under this pay check to pay check struggle life bouncing from one dead end job to another, get a career. Focus on getting a career that is in actual demand and not something u wanna do(doesnt make sense but it does at the same time). I always wanted to own my own construction company or at least be a contractor but the demands for those jobs were limited and the headaches of that job arent worth it (so i was told)and business can be up and down depending on the area and economy.

So i went into the medical field 12 years ago after working shytty jobs and living paycheck to paycheck(couldnt even save more than $100 a check). Got my RN and live life freely and secured financially. Working 3 days a week alone is worth it. fukk all that 9-5 bullshyt. I feel bad for those who spend a majority of their week working some dead end job and have nothing to show for it.

Trust, get a career that is in high demand and enjoy life. This world is too shytty and short to be a work slave in your prime years.

How much do you make being an RN and where do you live?
