Imagine a woman making $15 an hour, for about 400 - 450 a week after taxes, and her rent goes up to 1100 a month. She starts doing hair on the side, and makes $200 profit working just 6 hours in one day.

Imagine a dude making the same amount, and making $1500 profit over 2 weeks part time flipping stuff he bought at garage and liquidation sales.

As more and more people get into businesses and self-employment, the more disposable income they will have. Combine that with a lack of emotional stability when it comes to handling finances, and the price of things are just going to get higher and higher. A regular job is going to become less and less attractive

The work dynamic has been unbalanced for decades. Had got to the point where employers saw themselves as doing you a favor by hiring you. Neglecting that the employer/employee relationship is 50/50.

Employees and the working class are giving business owners a wake up call. Waking them from their attitudes which had become quite smug and condescending.
Exactly people are up and quitting in every industry right now. Look at this from just today. People are tired of getting used for shyt pay and poor working conditions.

You got businesses out here that can't even afford up to date equipment, yet people in this thread think that they will be able to afford automation and robots :mjlol:
I don't understand how they haven't figured out that this is just what the 1% says to scare people into taking shyt in their mouths as wages and shut up :stopitslime:

I hope the people that are quitting are leveling up with new skills to increase their income.

Inflation is on a tear right now and the pendulum will swing back into the employer’s favour.

Don’t wanna get caught with your pants down because this is one of the best times to level up on employment and income.

Yep. And this next position I probably won't even stay a full year. 8 months tops. I work in cybersecurity and I've got HR reps and recruiters hitting me up daily. I'd be a fool to stay tied down to a place right now. Options = leverage, and right now many American workers have options.
The job market for cybersecurity on fire right now. Quit my job without having another one lined up. But had four new job offers in less than 3 weeks.
:lolbron:

Once I saw some of the salaries these desperate companies were paying. I said fukk it why not cash in myself.
:yeshrug:

I was only at my last job 8 months also. But that 25% salary increase was too good to pass up.

Bro that's a 1970s helmet lol. Modern ones have a autodark feature. You can see through them til you start welding then it automatically darkens as soon as you start the arc

Threads like this expose nikkas working shyt jobs and nikkas that actually know how the economy works

6 cert gang ghosting out as well. They taking their money from the high stress, high pay jobs and starting their own thing or downgrading to a low stress position.

Welcome to the YOLO Economy

Until automation or Ghost Kitchen's fully kick in, those restaurants and service industries are going to have to increase the pay and working conditions for their workers. If not, either get the automation popping or close up shop as workers could care less of whether you got the money to pay them a livable wage.

That's the owner's problem not theirs.
Fast food restaurants have already increased pay.

Practically all my new certs are with SANS. I feel they have the highest ROI being so overpriced. And since most companies refuse to pay for them. Yet make them a requirement to get hired for senior positions. The first thing I ask a hiring manager is what the training budget look like this calendar year?
:mjlit:

Use that training budget to knock out a bunch of certs and dip for more money.
:mjlol:

Cloud Security is next since average salaries are well over 130K.
