As far as the defence of pedophilia centric "fictional" content, there has been a steady - albeit subtle - march towards loosening the stigma associated with it.
I remember not too long ago reading a Cracked.com article that ever so subtley made the argument that pedophiles were the victims.
By persecuting and ostracizing those afflicted,
we're making it worse.
It echoed similar sentiments as the quoted reddit post.
When readers expressed disgust, they shut down the comments.

At one point, I was browsing reviews for a PS4, post apocalyptic game called The Last of Us.
In it, you play as Joel, a 40 something year old man who is tasked with delivering a 14 year old named Ellie who is immune to the virus that turned humanity into a bunch of zombies, to a group across the country called the Fireflies so that they can hopefully engineer a vaccine and save the world.
I stumbled across one reviewer who went out of his way to fondly remark how precious Ellie was, and how he often would position the camera so it was
juuuust at the right angle for him to ogle "at her tight ass."

It's a billion dollar industry.
The rabbit hole runs a lot deeper than people want to acknowledge.
They're going to be getting these people "help" soon instead of throwing them in prison. The rich are tired of looking over their shoulders and you're witnessing the culmination of what's to come.
