Reddit has budged microscopically. The announcement that moderator access to the 'Pushshift' data-archiving tool would be restored was welcome. But our core concerns still aren't satisfied, and these concessions came prior to the blackout start date; Reddit has been silent since it began.
300+ subs have already announced that they are in it for the long haul, prepared to remain private or otherwise inaccessible indefinitely until Reddit provides an adequate solution. These include powerhouses like:
- /r/aww (34.1m)
- /r/music (32.3m)
- /r/videos (26.6m)
- /r/futurology (18.7m)
I’m siding with the CEO
Reddit cac mods have too big of an Ego. The fact that they’re doing this just proves it
Since I only use Reddit for NBA streams, I completely don't get it. Are users paying for reddit and protesting protesting or hurting the bottom line of reddit or just bytching?
That’s the thing these mods are making subs ofyou can create your own subreddit and mod it.![]()
basically reddit has a trash app, so people use other third party apps to view it through, reddit is now trying to charge the companies that made those apps a crazy amount of money to access reddit. the companies ain’t paying/can’t afford to pay/don’t want to pay that much. users wouldn’t be charged, but the apps they use to browse reddit won’t work if they don’t pay.Since I only use Reddit for NBA streams, I completely don't get it. Are users paying for reddit and protesting protesting or hurting the bottom line of reddit or just bytching?
i’m sure they could, but they’d just piss off their users moreHow are the mods able to do this? Can't the owner of the site just re-open all those subs?
Would probably be a violation of terms of agreement of using reddit. Even if you are the owner, you have to honor terms of use. Even if you want to change them, you still gotta give timely notice so users who dont like the new terms can have enough time to bush your service. How are the mods able to do this? Can't the owner of the site just re-open all those subs?
That’s the thing these mods are making subs of
Things that are already established and have a following. Like the NBA. Like I said fucc the mods
