It might sound crazy but as of right now, yes...if you load up the box to stop the QB from hitting the edge, then there is one one one in the secondary. If you play soft zone to stop those deep post routes, the QB and RB will eat you alive on the edges. Blitz off the edges, the read option goes to the RB between the tackles. Blitz the middle and the QB hits the edge or hits the receiver/TE on the crossing patterns. I hesitate to call anything completely unstoppable but there is a counter for every defensive strategy we have seen thus far.
Lets see what happens now that teams have more time to prepare . Cam stats went down some last year and just a slight dip in production in your offense could be the difference between 1-2 wins

difference is RG3 actually has pocket presence and a legit quick decision maker something cam struggles with....

This is true....a little dip would be expected though. I expect more passing touchdowns but not that 4-1 TD/INT ratio like last year. Time will tell

I don't see it being on a 1998 Vikings, 1999 Rams, 2007 Patriots, 2011 Packers level. They'll be good but that offensive line is still suspect and Griffin may have to round into form and it may take a few games.
Last year he hardly played in the preseason, didn't even play in the last game of the preseason. Hardly played the games before.
Once game one came around, remember the way he controlled the pocket? It was :ahh:
You know, you can relive that game anytime you want to :blessed:

@PS4 making a strong run for worst poster in the coliseum
Because I made a thread about the boldest quote so far this entire preseason :stopitslime:
Obviously your jealousy of this team is why :umad: so now I'm a bad poster because the Redskins run you nikkaz?
It don't work that way. Since you reaching, this makes you a bad poster. Which isn't something most of us didn't already know...
Look all he needs is defenses to play him alittle bit better to cost the skins wins breh
Like that Giants 3rd down D that was worst in the league? Don't forget how the Redskins defense was playing like shyt and we still won the division :whew:
How can defenses play THIS better
RGIIIclutch.gif

I think teams have it all wrong. Me personally I would clog the middle and let rg3 run all he wants. Best kept secret is griffin is awful at running. Red zone is different tho
I know what you talking about, but Rob said he didn't take advantage because they was running him so often to start the season.
I fully expect them to cut down on the RG3 designed run plays which will allow him to take advantage of more run opportunities when they present themselves.
If RG3 wasn't a hard worker, I'd be concerned with "if he can improve" but we all know his work ethic is why he'll continue to improve year in and year out :salute:

People keep calling it a gimmick that will be figured out. Cam ran a variation of it the year before and everyone said it would get figured out in the offseason. Fast forward to last year where not only are the panthers are running it, but Wash., S.F., and Seattle run it as well. So the league had an entire offseason to prepare for it and the very next year, 3 of the 4 teams that ran it made the playoffs and one made the Superbowl. You guys are overlooking the fact that any of the four gentleman at QB for these teams can play as a pocket passer if need be. Just face it, you have to out score these teams and pray that the offense is a bit out of sync when you play them.

And the Ravens got the superbowl winning blueprint......#FACT

anyways if a QB wants to run....let him run and knock him out. Only QB i seen take the punishment in the NFL is Tim Tebow. Lot of QB's are looking fragile like vick.

people act brand new to the NFL. staying in the pocket and running to extend the play is the QB formula for carrying a team. Taking off like a track-star ain't the winning QB formula. Aaron Rodgers and Big Ben use their speed/athleticism to extend the play...Now if you built like Tebow to take punishment then you can run it like a back down the field.

I'm actually not one to say pocket passing is on its way to extinction and the new hybrid offenses will be the new thing every team will use soon. I think both styles have their benefits and can see a mix of these offenses in the NFL going forward. Let's not act like Joe Flacco wasn't nearly flawless last post season. I don't see many QBs duplicating the run he had last season either. I think if you master any offense it's nearly unstoppable, which is why I can see continued success for the pistol...read option...stretch zone blocking offense. The key is you have to win before your QB is dog food from all the hits :heh:

Bruh, you just shouting "FACT" doesn't make your lie a fact bruh. Stop that. Ravens lost to RG3, FACT
Ravens would of lost to SF if it wasn't for Antawn Boldin, FACT. That had everything to do with it, not the Ravens being able to stop SF cuz they couldn't.
Ravens had to score on a questionable play at the end of the game to steal that victory. I'm glad they did, but it wasn't because of the reasons you just tried to attach FACT to :stopitslime:

Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
I wonder if this quote was based purely off RG3. Or does he have that built in excuse when someone hits him directly in the knee. Cause I'm gonna tell you what defenses are about to do. Just hit the qb anyway. Soon as they fake it, just drill the shyt out of him. 15 yards.... Cool. No suspension and no ejection. Then do it again. Let them know that every time you attempt that shyt, we knocking your motherfukking helmet off. I bet coaches get real shook, real quick

I been a 49er fan since the 80s. I seen it happen to Steve young. And in the Super Bowl with kaep. They just hit his ass anyway. Most defensive players and coordinators, ex and current, have all said this would be the best idea. Scare the coaches into not running it for fear of getting them hurt. Is it dirty? Damn right. But it'll work. Just spy the qb and rush his ass the moment they try it.

I'm gonna make a bold prediction and say all 4 of the teams who run it, will have a qb injured at some point this year. And that goes triple for rg3 seeing how he already messed that knee up twice in his career in a major way and twice last year alone with the few games he was out
