I need some advice on moving Coli brehs. I’ll be moving from Michigan when my lease on my apartment is finished in March. But cannot decide between these two cities.

Need change of scenery. Feel like I’m wasting away in Michigan. Need to get out if the midwest. Tired of the winters.

I’m an experienced registered nurse so finding a job shouldn’t be that hard.

Houston-
I’ve only visited Houston a couple times. My older sister and 2yr old niece live there.
But i know no one else out there
The cost of living is much cheaper
Diverse with significant black population
I find Michigan humidity in the summer annoying, Houston is probably much worse

San Diego-
Lived in San Diego until I was 7.
My dad and step siblings live in area.
RNs make more money out there because the cost of living is ridiculous
Population is diverse but not a lot of black people
Perfect weather

You have a great career so San Diego's cost of living wouldn't be a problem. Plus I see a tech boom that's going to skyrocket San Diego homes happening in a few years.

I'd say San Diego.

Keep in mind if you live frugally you can save quite a lot in that city if you're getting paid more: $90k a year offsets $1.4k (nice) studio apartments. Better yet, save then get a house in the next couple of years and let the tech boom increase that property's value.

Edit: like other breh said, the weather. Plus Los Angeles and Orange County are both an hour away if you want to plan a weekend vacation or go someplace else for the day. Then there's the high speed rail system that's going up and down the coast that will be active in a few years. There's opportunity everywhere.

Nothing wrong with Houston (I personally have never been), but chances are living in San Diego will feel good.

Speaking as someone who also spent most of their life in Michigan and recently moved to the west coast (Washington), weather matters a lot, especially as you get older and/or have lived in shytty climates for a long time. Go to San Diego and don't look back. If you go to Houston, you'll be thinking about that every day of that oppressive humidity/heat during the summer.

SD is one of the most beautiful places in the country imo. See how much you’ll be making in both cities and use a cost of living/salary calculator to compare. If it’s comparable I would say SD. Houston is a dope city too though.

San Diego without hesitation. You can find reasonable apartments in Escondido, la Jolla, and San Marcos but you'll need to factor in commute for the later.
Fall Brook is actually nice too but it'll be a good drive.
Great weather, food , night life, beaches.
Houston is nice but San Diego offers more in my opinion.
