Relocating to Dallas

Man stop, don't nobody give a shyt about south dallas but the people that live there. He has a $1200 a month budget for a place to stay, yes you can get a house but why make a 30 year commitment to a specific location when he just now moving here? Rent an apartment In uptown feel the city out for a year or two and then go from there.
On a side note it bugs the fukk outta me when people say why pay that for rent when you can get a house, I get that same shyt everytime I tell someone how much I pay for rent. Everyone's situation is different
if you looking for a 1200 apt why would you look in the desoto, cedar hill area? fukk outta here. dont do my coli breh like that. i never met anyone that is looking to move to desoto, cedarhill, oak cliff area unless you ghetto. when people wanna get out of the hood you move north.
i never said chipotle was good. that says a lot about the city if you aint got a chipotle in your area. and one starbux within a 20 mile radius????

Let me put it like this.... If you wanna look and live like a balla..... Stay in North Dallas.... If you don't care for the glitz and glamour of a big city, South Dallas is for you. You got a car so it don't matter.. You can drive to any mall or the high end stores in N. Dallas, see a Cowboys or Mavs game or hit up any club....

You are correct (except fir the south dallas part) but remember op says he wants to walk to bars and different spots, he is from up north so uptown is the only place in the metroplex that will resemble that living style

thats what im saying. homie is coming from the east coast where he is used to walking everywhere. if he moves to desoto it will be the biggest culture shock ever. its like us moving out to the countryside where people hangout at walmarts on friday nights. and "eating out" means going to the dairy queen.
uptown is real nice but expensive.
another spot that would be cheaper is lower greenville area. around the M streets but the bars arent as nice. and lower greenville wasnt the hotspot it used to be 8 years ago.
the hottest spot coming up for night life is off 75 and henderson. they have brand new apartments in between barcadia and victortango they run about 900-1500. all walking distance. slip inn on saturday nights is hip hop night and there are a lot of blacks there.

Each city is going to have it's good areas and band areas. 1,200 a month CAN get you a lot but if you move to a "well developed" area you can end up paying more (was paying 1075 a month for a 1 bd 1 b 720sq apartment). For 1,200 I'd say rent or lease a house. And the rest spend on guns. lol just kidding.

I'm from NY and have been down here for years. $1200 is a little less than I pay for my mortgage and my house is over 3000 sq ft. So for that amount, you'll live well.
For what your looking for Addison is probably the best bet. Lots of whites, but plenty of black clubs. Most of the white spots will have plenty of niccas in them, so you'll feel comfortable.
Most of the hip hop clubs are wack but that depends on your taste. Zubar had a hip hop night that used to be good. Also lots of clubs in North Dallas.

Quick question for the Dallas heads, are the trains safe? Cuz in Houston the train is safe even after dark, but God help you if you're on the bus especially after dark.
