My sport will never die.
Right, and it's the first time in how long?theres only prime time boxing tonight because al haymon paid out the ass to get some primetime slots over the next few years, not because there was some huge demand for it by the networks

Doesn't mean much tbh. Thats an attempt that will hopefully bring popularity and an expanded demographic to boxing but that doesn't mean it's already achevived that goal. Let's be reality, the most famous active boxer in that commercial was Broner
. I'm sorry but I just don't see him ever drawing the same time of attention as a Mayweather
. And when I say dying, I don't actually mean disappear, I just mean popularity when it comes to the casual fan. Boxing Stans will swear boxing isn't dying but that's just because they follow it and are highly invested in it. But when it comes to the casual fan, there's no denying that boxing is gonna fall on some tougher times after Mayweather retires
You posting this while there is a huge primetime boxing broadcast on NBC tonight makes this very funny.
I'm pretty sure it wasn't a huge demand for boxing that forced NBC into this. I may be wrong thoReal talk, NBC been trying to revive their own horrendous ratings for years. This isn't the first time they looked for boxing to bring them back either. You posting this while there is a huge primetime boxing broadcast on NBC tonight makes this very funny.

Just came in here to post the same exact thingJoe rogan is a fakkit

If boxing is in a depression then every other combat sports are third world countries with no end in sight.Real talk, NBC been trying to revive their own horrendous ratings for years. This isn't the first time they looked for boxing to bring them back either.
I love boxing, I always will - but I'm not about to pretend that they aren't in a literal depression right now with no end in sight.

I love boxing and mma. I don't even like comparing the two because they are different sports. But you can't go around saying things like "boxing is dead" or "mma is taking over" when those guys are being paid peanuts and boxers salaries are rising. Didn't cotto just sign a 50 million dollar deal for 3 fights? You can add up the last 20 ufc cards and i doubt their fighters made that much combined. It's a fact these guys are being paid 90k to headline ppvs while boxers you've never heard of get double in non ppv fights. You know, Carl Froch made more in his last fight than all the UFC champs combined![]()
Eh?If boxing is in a depression then every other combat sports are third world countries with no end in sight.
Did you know who Manny was 10 years ago?
Boxing is an organic worldwide sport, there will always be new stars on the horizon.
