UFC has already laid a crazy foundation though. MMA gyms have popped up up at ridiculous rates all across the country. When (yes, when) the UFC folds because it doesn't take care of its fighters the next organizer is gonna be in the best position to corner a sport and market that the world has ever seen.

Boxing is struggling to get two recognizable faces on TV at the same time these days. The kinda put themselves in a corner in more ways than one over the past 15 years.
U hold on to that.

Hold on to what? :usure: when mayweather fights someone, you don't see new boxing gyms pop up all across the world. and olympic boxing? :scusthov: that's probably done just as much as anything else when it comes to things that have slowed boxing down over the years

I love boxing. But to say it isn't in a slump right now is jokes.

Let me show you some examples of this "dying sport"

An unranked boxer in Rod Salka made 125k to fight Danny Garcia on showtime :sas1:

Cormier made 90k to fight Jones on ppv :sas2:

Timothy Bradley made 3 mill to fight Chavez on regular HBO :sas1:

More than every mma fighter on that Jones/Cormier card combined :sas2:
If player salaries were what a sport's popularity and marketability were judged by, then MLB wouldn't be openly scared as hell knowing that their primary demograph is gonna die off completely in 8 years

Americans dont care about Soccer but to say NOBODY cares about it is stupid...The 2 top leagues are the most watched and highest grossing sports leagues on the planet...

My bad breh.... fair enough.... I forget sometimes TheColi is an UNIVERSAL WORLDWIDE site and not a predominantly AMERICAN site.:rudy:

I need to go to TLR more and catch up on the casual shyt that happens in New Zealand or chop it up with the Irish cats in JBO talking about British Trannies and shyt

I got to learn when on a big INTERNATIONAL site like TheColi, gotta remember to think about the world. Let me go peep out the Chinese cats in RR talking about that Jackie Chan joint:skip:

And if it were done 3 years ago it'd be worth double that... that ain't the point though. Who's got next? And is it going to be anywhere near that?

I prefer boxing over MMA cuz I'd rather watch guys stand up and fight rather than rolling on the ground trying to make each other submit. But i've been watching way more UFC. I can't remember the last time i was excited to see a boxing match. Boxing just doesn't have the stars they once had.:ld: But like @Rell84shots said, if another Tyson or Holyfield came on the scene :ohlawd: that would be must-see tv for me.

UFC on TV can't even do WWE numbers and wrestling fell off a cliff for a while following the departure of The Rock and Stone Cold. Yeah - they've had some very good buyrates, some of them were due to Brock Lesnar (again, another wrestler saving them) and the others were due to Silva, GSP, Chuck Liddell, etc.. and they are all but retired. Chuck is. The others will be.

Who is UFC going to get monster buy rates out of now? Ronda Rousey is their biggest star and she has nobody but Cyborg left to fight. A fight with Carano would draw some eyeballs but she's been out of the game for 5 years making movies.

Who else is there? Bones Jones? Maybe, but he's also a cokehead.

Every last one of UFC's decent fighters they have left are generic looking white guys with ZERO personality. That shyt will never sell. They have nobody with charisma.

No it wouldn't have, there making more now...

Whoever has next doesn't need to come close to that number... This is another piece that u not understanding, people have always said it was going to die when so and so retires.. U like them is just trying to PREDICT something.

I CAN name boxers who could have next but for what? U wouldn't even know who I'm talking about... U just know of Broner and Floyd.

I don't even have beef with mma like that but why are these dudes always saying stuff like this?

I don't watch tennis but I don't go around saying tennis is dying. These dudes always come across like they got some little man complex when it comes to boxing.

What we eat don't make you shyt enjoy your submissions and shyt.

I'm serious, read what people have said.

It would have been a better fight 5 years ago but everyone upstairs is saying they were smart to wait cuz there making a lot more money now... There's tickets that are going for 250,000.
