Remember when they said, Spoelstra is only as good as Lebron makes him?

Let's atleast wait to get to 15 games in the year where wades knee turns to trash and he plays 20 minutes a night

And the Heat will still have a better record than the Lakers. :mjlol:

Bosh better than every player on the Lakers and averaging the same amount of assists as Kobe but less TO. :russ:

Crippled Wade better too.

The precedent has already been set. Anything short of 2 championships and 4 finals appearances is a failure. 1 ain't cutting it

:usure:

1 Championship in Cleveland > 2 Championships in Miami as far as LeBron's legacy goes.

Spo is a great coach you could see this before during and after Lebron era
Oh please, stop with the revisionist shyt. I've never seen this guy being called "a great coach"
He wasn't exactly successful before Lebron got there.
Dude was getting clowned in the media (and sohh) and people suggested that maybe Miami should get a new coach when Lebron signed. He was seen as the weak link and there were rumors of Pat Riley coming back again (especially after their terrible start).
His reputation was just of a lucky dude who had 3 stars fall on his lap :heh:

Spoelstra has some flaws but he's never been looked at as a bad coach. He's always been solid defensively and he led a team with Michael Beasley to a top ranked defense his second year in the league.

He's never missed the playoffs or fallen below .500 plus he helped get the Big 3 Heat.

Spoelstra's problems are he's only decent at drawing up plays but he can be a bit stagnant, he's not great at minute to minute adjustments, and he's a bit wonky on his rotations to a stubborn fault.

He's GREAT at game to game adjustments (You can see he watches a lot of tape), he's great at maximizing defensive potential for a team, and he is very good at getting players to trust him. Look at how he got Chris Bosh to become one of the elite PNR defenders and quietly groomed into him a legit 3 point threat while maximizing personnel usage to clear space for his slashers.

Spoelstra's a good coach overall but he can a bit frustrating in the middle of a game simply because he's hardheaded.

This goes for any coach. You look at the most successful coaches of all time and what do all of them have in common? Riding ATGs to championships. He's a good coach, not sure if he's great but he will have ample opportunity over the next few years to prove that.

Can it be Spo has got better?

Are we forgetting how clueless Spo was that first year?

Did we forget Doc Rivers and even Indy's coach giving it to Spo in 2012. It taking LeBron going beast mode to save that team's ass?

Spo has got a helluva lot better though. Great to see a coach improve.

Spo is as good as the pieces :boss: Riley surrounds him with:sas2:

back to back 45 win seasons and a 5th seed with just Wade, Jermaine O'Neal's corpse, Q Rich, Dorrell Wright and rookie mistake prone Chalmers on a team that had one just 15 games before he was charge:manny:. Even when Riles gives him lemons he made lemonade.

We all knew Spo was a good coach but many questioned if he was great. And im far from surprised that Miami is playing this well. Yeah they lost Lebron and probably wont go back to the Finals this year but they returned arguably to top 20-25 players in the league and should still be expected to win at least 45 to 50 games. I wouldn't be surprised at all if they ended up playing Chicago or Cleveland in the ECF finals. Cause they have experience in the postseason which a lot of these teams in the East cant say.
