Mid ass GCW has just taken over.
Don’t know why a company like Deadlock Pro doesn’t run a show there. They’re the closest thing to the original ROH around today.
I watched Bloodsport. It was decent.

Really enjoyed Bloodsport, especially Snow/Shafir, Bazsler/Slamovich and Abe/Nomura.
I really like this style for a couple of hours over WM weekend - it's like going to a two hour music theory seminar in the middle of Glastonbury festival.
Girlfriend was bored to tears... apparently no ropes and two white supremacist looking CACs struggling over wrist control for 5 mins is past her tolerance threshold.

Someone needs to pump some money into Deadlock and get them at WrestleMania weekend.

Or imagine some indie/Japan super shows featuring TNA, ROH, Deadlock, Revolver, HOG, Defy, Prestige, Beyond, Create A Pro, MLW, Black Label Pro, West Coast Pro, etc.
Over half those companies above weren’t even in Philly this weekend yet GCW had to have 75 shows.

the biggest problem is a lot of guys who are signed mail it in when they do get booked outside the promotion these days.
then a few years ago you'd get a "legend" who could still go and he'd show out. now they are all either too old or take the booking and just do the bare minimum.
no more PCO or 2 cold scorpio or some other old fukk randomly going off one last time. instead you get RVD

but it probably pays off from the creepy marks buying trash they threw away or jars of air they breathed from the promoters.
With WWE having so many shows and events mania weekend, I think it may be best to just move everything to Summerslam weekend. No need to worry about a second night of mania, or a hall of fame ceremony, or maybe even an nxt event, not sure if they usually run one that weekend. Plus I think the raw or smackdown is often elsewhere. Like this year SD and SS are in Cleveland but Raw in Baltimore. Don't know why the indies don't focus more on SS especially with how much the event has grown lately.

Indies also like to pop up around AEW PPVs now, especially their big ones. That’s an audience that is more likely to want to check out indies too.
I don’t imagine there is going to be much of an indie presence at Dynasty weekend, but I imagine a bunch of them will be running at Forbidden Door if it takes place in the US.
They obviously don’t show up like they do for WM weekend by any stretch of the imagination, but more opportunities to run shows closer to their territory (saves $$$) with an audience that is more indie friendly would play a big factor, I’d imagine.
The Indy show cards were mid this year compared to the ones I seen live in Dallas and what I seen on Fite TV in LA.
I seen bloodsport in person and really enjoyed it, but that’s about it when it comes to the indie shows. GCWs peak was Mania 38, now they’re trying to take over the indies with their crappy matches.
DPW and WCPW definitely need to join mania week next year, especially with them having a partnership together in addition with progress wrestling. Progress and Defy had shows, but they were so early in the week that it’s an afterthought.
Also, many indie shows are too expensive. I wanted to support Caribbean wrestling show, but it was outdoor and cost $50 wtf? My nxt ticket was cheaper than that. Nobody tryna watch outdoor indie shows in 40 degree weather for $50 FOH. Same with some deathmatch shows
So far, my mania trip has been pretty mid overall from night 1 to the indie shows, to walemania. WestsideGunn show was dope based off the insane lineup
