Of course NY, LA, DC would be difficult. But Nashville, Pittsburgh, Cincinnati and other cities you could definitely find a decent house
Very plausible.
But you can see why "buy > rent ALWAYS" is nonsensical.

I'm not gonna lie to you bro, the only case I've seen where renting beats ownership is if ownership is not even a realistic option for you. Everything else is goofy babble unless you're trying to show that portfolio and let thecoli know what the winning plays are.

Those opposing owning bringing up shyt to discourage. What about property taxes or the down payment or if something breaks, you gotta pay for it. I'm sure everyone who owns or plans to own is well aware of those costs. Most rational people aren’t saying rent is better it’s just a reality for a lot of us.
Imma be home ownership gang next year though![]()
Pittsburgh cannot be 1.9K average
I pay almost half that and got a nice spot, 20 mins from downtown
I never said it's always better. I'm telling y'all it's not an impossible feat as y'all are saying it isVery plausible.
But you can see why "buy > rent ALWAYS" is nonsensical.
and over time home owners may have more disposable income to invest since the biggest expense (housing) is locked inWhy does everyone think mortgages are so expensive? Lol.
Y’all stupid

Are these people renting apartments from like a big company or are they renting from a sole person? If it's the latter they are definitely getting fleecedCause they don't own homes and have no idea what they are talking about. Who ever you're renting from is covering that mortgage.....with your rent money
My mortgage is $800 LESS than the suggested rent for my property. The way the market is now and some improvements I've made I wouldn't be surprised if I could honestly get double my mortgage if I were to rent my place out
These are facts bro. Ownership isn't even a realistic option for them so they talk themselves into thinking renting is better due to hurt ego. Then when you ask em for receipts it's every word in the world but an actual receipt. Folks just talking to talk, they don't even really buy the nonsense they're saying like that lol.because they don't own...and have known nothing else but renting.
Yea the whole "renting is better because you can invest" argument never made sense. Home owners can invest tooand over time home owners may have more disposable income to invest since the biggest expense (housing) is locked in

the funny part is that some of these people are landlords, and renting is the best effective way for them to eat. Those opposing owning bringing up shyt to discourage. What about property taxes or the down payment or if something breaks, you gotta pay for it. I'm sure everyone who owns or plans to own is well aware of those costs.
One thing that they forget is you get pre-approved for what you can afford. You can find a house under what you're approved for. It's just harder the past few years with competing with other buyers
The first part I'm only going to respond to. That would be that person's fault and if you have a realtor that gives a damn, they wouldn't let you get into that position. There's plenty of resources out there to prevent any of what you're saying. There's all kinds of grants, seminars for first time buyers that help with closing costs and down paymentsYou would be surprised breh.
A lot of people are not aware of the total costs of home ownership. Have you ever heard of the expression "house poor"? This is a common phenomenon. A lot of people just budget the promised monthly payment. But shyt happens beyond that, that a lot of people can't deal with.
And a lot of people buy houses they don't need. It's easy to see what you are pre-approved for and find a house that pushes up against that number. But if a boiler craps out or you need a new roof you either have to put it on the CC or take out a HELOC.
Let's stop with the cap. Home ownership can be great. It sometimes is not.
I aint even against owning, but there is a lot of fluff for the idea of ownership without nuance. There was a whole video posted here with numbers and calculations but it mostly ignored cause people don't want to hear contrary to their views.the funny part is that some of these people are landlords, and renting is the best effective way for them to eat.
You would be surprised breh.

That's what I'm saying, all the discouraging and comments to people who actually been through the process and giving their experiences and being told, Oh you ain't think about this expense or this expense or the money you have to put downHow would you know?
Muafukka you're a forever renter and proud
You going back and forth with everyone about the downside of homeownership and all these fees yet you've never gone through it.
You look foolish![]()
