Why would you fire Scott once he makes them a contender?

Scott is good for young players, he had the Lakers playing hard until the end, even though the team was terrible. He is not a detriment when he has talent to coach, but he is not a good defensive coach or has a good offensive mindset, he is more of a motivator, but it doesn't work when its a veteran heavy team. I see Scott as what Del Harris was before Phil came to town and took a contending team into a championship team.

Byron is a Laker for life and Laker family, he did the Lakers a favor when no established coach wanted to takeover for D'Antoni due to the Lakers having no assets at all. Now Lakers have assets, number two pick coming, and max contracts cap space coming next two summers. Lakers wanted to get Calipari or Kevin Ollie to make the splash signing before settling on Scott, but they didn't want the job. In a year or two, I can definitely see the Lakers try to get Ollie, who is from the area, and especially when Durant is a free agent next summer and Westbrook in two summers as well.
