Are you exposing them to other things that will help them in the real world like math and sciences or are you content with these pyrrhic victories being spoon fed to u? Ownership is powerful. I was just thinking this today, but in reference to real estate. If vacant homes were re-developed as co-ops, which is just an apartment that people own, the poorer/hood communities can get the opportunity to own affordably, and among other poor/hood folks, instead of being pushed out when they develop homes they can't afford. I feel/hope the ownership will result in a different mentality overall.
