After more than a year of speculation about the possibility of Netflix developing a Resident Evil series, the streaming giant has finally confirmed that a live-action adaptation of Capcom's legendary survival-horror franchise is in the works.
According to Netflix, Resident Evil will tell a brand new story across two timelines. Here's how Netflix describes the Resident Evil show in a brief synopsis:

"In the first timeline, fourteen-year-old sisters Jade and Billie Wesker are moved to New Racc00n City. A manufactured, corporate town, forced on them right as adolescence is in full swing. But the more time they spend there, the more they come to realize that the town is more than it seems and their father (editor's note: Albert Wesker, we presume!) may be concealing dark secrets. Secrets that could destroy the world. Cut to the second timeline, well over a decade into the future: there are less than fifteen million people left on Earth. And more than six billion monsters -- people and animals infected with the T-virus. Jade, now thirty, struggles to survive in this New World, while the secrets from her past - about her sister, her father, and herself - continue to haunt her."

While no casting information has been announced, Netflix did reveal that the eight-episode first season of hour-long episodes will be brought to life by showrunner and writer Andrew Dabb (Supernatural), and director Bronwen Hughes (The Walking Dead), who will direct the first two episodes. Both Dabb and Hughes will serve as executive producers alongside Robert Kulzer and Oliver Berben of Constantin Film, and Mary Leah Sutton.

Concept is trash, I thought we were gonna see the games retold the right way, or are they still doing the movie reboots?

They're gonna probably cast the two leads of their recently cancelled shows along with Electra from Daredevil as adoptive Mom Jill Valentine :lolbron:

are these real plot concepts?

why is capcom terrible in the live action department

There's a movie version being done by different producers and that's more true to the source material, with Jill, Chris, Claire & Leon making appearances in the film. They're already cast as well
