Illegal immigration had everything to do with black people not showing up

in case you didn't notice there was a rash of social media and articles in black media pointing out that Obama had done things for specifically for gays and hispanics and nothing for specifically for black people, so Hillarys focus on amnesty was directly related to her loss

And it goes without saying that illegal immigration is not something white people in the rust belt were down with

It's baffling that democrats think it's a good idea to give 11 million illegal immigrants work permits and that people won't notice or mind and yall still don't get that is why she lost

It's crazy how the Dems don't actually do anything for black people, yet white people are somehow under the impression that the party panders to blacks and we get scapegoated when they lose despite being their most loyal voters. :wow:

That said I don't think immigration was that much of a factor at all in how black people voted, because it's not like many voted for Trump. Clinton just wasn't an inspiring candidate.

With union membership never coming back, I think it's time for us to move on and change the electoral map. The demographic shift was prevalent on election day. Look at the state of NC, VA, and GA. VA was won because of the high educated voting block in the northern part of the state. Look at the election in Georgia. Mitt Romney won by double digits against Obama in 2012, but Hillary ( a worse candidate) lost the state by 5 percentage points. There seem to be a shift happening in that state. Finally look at North Carolina, it would be interesting to see how that state plays out without voter suppression.

Lol, that's not an answer, that's like saying I'm broke and I'm gonna fix it by getting some money........ok....so how are you going to get money...

So breh asked you where are you going to get the votes and your answer is, "change the electoral map". How sway? How are you going to change the electoral map? That is not the answer that's the question

A couple of weeks ago you and you ilk were writing essays about the plight of 11 million illegal immigrant and how if a black person is poor or unemployed it's their own fault

You have more empathy for illegal aliens than poor black people, so stop

I don't think immigration in and of itself was a factor, but the overall impression of democrats doing things for gays and hispanics and not for black people led to low black voter turnout

And when you include the distaste of white voters for illegal immigration it's a factual statement that the issue of illegal immigration is one of the reasons Hillary lost

To top it off, after all that pandering trump got more of the Hispanic vote than Romney, so an issue that democrats think is a winner is actually a major loser

:what:are you serious? I mean stop focusing on Wisconsin, Michigan, and Wisconsin voters, and focus on North Carolina, Virginia and Georgia voters. The electoral map showed the demographic and economical shift of each state. That's the idea of changing the electoral map. I'm taking it you don't read the NY Times, Paul Krugman and Charles blow made this point for years.

Look at the electoral map of each state

North Carolina - 15 electoral votes
Virginia - 13 electoral votes
Georgia- 16 electoral votes

Now look at the Midwest

Michigan- 16 electoral votes
Wisconsin - 10 electoral votes
Ohio - 18 electoral votes

You see where the demographic shift takes place?

Obama and Hillary ( despite her flaws), noticed this trend as well. That's why Obama took the DNC convention to Charlotte, and Hillary picked Tim Kaine ( governor of VA) as her vice presidential candidate.

While the Midwest sticks to the imagination of manufacturing:mjlol:, those southern states don't.

North Carolina is dominated by the banking industry ( Charlotte), and the energy sector.
Virginia is dominated by the government sector and defense industries ( north VA)
Georgia led by Atlanta is making a economic shift as well.

There's a reason despite her flaws Hillary won districts where a majority of the voters were educated.

"Clinton won more counties where at least 50% of adults have bachelor's degrees

79.1%
Clinton
20.9%
Trump
Source: AP

Jump off the sinking ship ( Midwest), and start attacking new areas ( ACC territory).

Didn't she do slight worse than Obama in NC? And I have no reason to believe ATL can undermine the impact of the GOP throughout the state.

:russ: I love the passive aggressiveness.

I mean focus on the GOTV ( getting the vote out campaign), build their policy position around higher education, scientific investment, social liberalism, expanding the childcare deduction act, climate change initiative.

:ohlawd: and yes the vanilla lattes and 6 dollar evolution drinks are so worth it.

:yeshrug: I live around these people , I saw it a mile away.

The problem is, Trump is a snake oil salesman

These same people will be VERY VERY hot in 4 years.

I live in Indiana. I wrote this on Thursday.

Trump told downtrodden White America, especially in places like Ohio, Pennsylvania and others that the good paying jobs are coming back. They aren't and the people that have those jobs now; some will lose them before they retire. Globalization won't allow it to happen any other way. Trump told the better lie this cycle

I used to work for Ford Motor Company years ago. My folks are still there and of retirement age. I was once in a union meeting and the leader was like, we make $77 an hour with all benefits considered while your Mexican counterpart makes $3, you don't need to be educated to understand that stat is fukking ridiculous. That day, I enrolled in a college to get my bachelor's. 4 years after that, I got my MBA and now I'm back again for another bachelors. I was six years in, no way in hell was I going to make it to 30. I got my head out of my ass real quick. There is a lot of hubris that goes with people that have these jobs. They grow entitled. As I said above. Those jobs are leaving. I wasn't going to let a monolithic company like Ford, in my 25th year, be like, we don't need you any more. If I was going to fail, it was going to be on my own accord.

They got duped.

The only problem with targeting the south and abandoning the Midwest is that white votes in the Midwest are not as racially driven as white voters in the South.

At the moment, there are not enough educated surbaban whites to offset the hillbillies in the rest of the state at a consistent basis. (NC in 08 as an example, has now voted Republican in 2012 and 2016 after going Democrat in 2016.

But I believe Hillary did better than Obama (2012) in NC this time. Again, voter suppression did some damage, but it's not hard to see where the winds are shifting.

That isn't gonna work, your comrade @Robbie3000 in a rare moment of clarity actually just explained why
