I personally had Lux winning back then, but lookin back at it its a lot clearer

If you watch the battle and listen to all the shyt Lux was sayin.
He attacked Clips from so many angles man
He had shyt for the streetnikkas in Harlem
He had shyt for the battlerap fans that like exposals
He had shyt for the battlerap fans that like lyricism

How Clips responded to that 3rd after the exposal was the nail in the coffin

Lux Vs Clips....it seems there are many diffrent opinions as to who actually won...but who really won??? Battle rap is so subjective, there may NEVER BE A CLEAR WINNER. Just as many people that say Clips won 3 -0, there will be just as many that say Lux won 3-0...Instead of determining who won the entire battle, I want to examine closely Luxs 1st round only for now. There were many hidden gems buried within the "Filler". Lux had some beautifully hidden "Trap doors" Clips wasn't supposed to see coming, and the crowd didn't (and couldn't) catch them all live. This round was manufactured with greatness. Let's begin shall we?

After his first big crowd reaction with his punchline.."I'll box 5 and you ain't go to pay little Ceasars... (which was just ok) he followed that with Digornio (did y'all know...a slight reach) he can walk amongst the Tomb Stones? Tonight home *slice*... (A movie starring Leeam Neeson, and the Brand of another pizza company) thus continuing the pizza references. Beautiful. Further in the round, he says "you couldn't get down with me with Rick Ross trainer" (referencing Ross slimming down) kinda slick. He says "Twitter fingers turn to trigger fingers..don't it take a certain among of characters to explain it...like Me Myself and I" (diffrent characters so to speak) Nice! Moving along, "just cause tre chilling with a *cold block* don't make em cube!!!...if they kick the door you'll tell em where the pills buried (Pillsbury) you not the doughboy that you think you are! That was an obvious double meaning the crowd caught...but!... he brilliantly followed with "I'm just pokin holes in em" (the Pillsbury Doughboy was poked in the stomach on the commercials) very slick! Next, we put the magnifying glass on his next sequence of bars...look closely...he says the key words *relate*, and *relationship* referencing hollow stealing clips slogan then proceeds to say"if I *break up* with people cause we didnt get along, i knew when to pass the *baton* in this human *race* we in, but you can't tell to a nikka *without a car!"* Fantastic word association by Lux here! Next he does a T Mobile scheme ("the minute they roll over"), fave 5, sprint, then he relates the phone company Sprint with Marathon...linking or segued one topic smoothly into another...once again..brilliance. "Wreck and tangle (rectangle) my circle of life, the world is *round*, but I ain't gone *flat* leave my nikkaz".. (world is round, old theories said the earth was flat). Yikes. "This is what happens when they creatively *famished*, they can't handle it/They mental *feeds* be *fishin'* cause they ain't bred *(bread)* for this type of *meat,* but you could hook up the *sandwiches!*/ smh...however you choose to decipher this play on words...it's still higher level writing. Finally..."I mean look, you got whatever advantages, could be damages/standin in ya lobby, I'm thinkin how he... put his *rounds together* that's a *sign* that nikka outty (audi), I been plannin this!/
"I rap circles around a body..nikka you lucky it could be bandages!" Watch this....the audi sign of course is the rings strung together, which pertain *put his rounds together*, also the key word *sign* which is related to the audi symbol of course, but he also said "rap circles around a body..." which is a metaphor for the circles of the audi sign on the body of a car, but the word *bandages* is another meaning for "circles around a body"...do y'all see this shyt!!!!!! Sign, rounds together, circles around a body, bandages...1 concept...4 diffrent meanings.....the hand of God was witnessed without anyone in the building knowing...anyway...this is how you properly break down rounds. This is why when I say trust my judgement on bars...do it! I'm listening intently with a "Writers Ear"..I hear the unheard...anyway...2morrow we break down Clips' 1st round....

If it wasn't for the fukkery of the coin toss and then Smack cutting Lux's third round short, this shyt would be looked at as even a bigger bodybag than it was, on some Lux/Cal shyt... especially considering Clips at the time was still being looked at as one of those GOAT candidates. Hollow pretty much poked all of the holes into Clips earlier in the year, but because of how that battle actually went (Hollow not showing up in the 3rd, Clips ending strong, plus Clips's political skills) Clips was still able to finagle himself into that Mook-Lux-Hollow tier. After that night though, it was over.

That Doughboy scheme is still some shyt that has me on not only how he was able to put all of that shyt together, but also it was a direct shot at Clips. I really don't see other battlers coming up with schemes that crazy that are actually relevant to their opponent.

The snapshot/backdrop/mascot shyt hit hard too in the second. Had Smack leaning back like a motherfukker. Lux even threw in a quick freestyle and some comedy in there too... "Charlie Clips getting the chips again/ Last bet, what happened?/ Couture said he lost the rent again".

The one thing that always stuck out to me about this battle was how Beasley was rooting for Clips hard as hell, shyt wasn't even professional lol.

On some other shyt, I'm not sure how if I'm Charlie Clips I don't at least consider running up on Lux right after the battle. That shyt was just too vicious/personal, particularly since we know Lux and Clips really know each other, and apparently Lux has actually met his mother. The side chick shyt he threw at her, the details he did it with so you can't even argue that she wasn't a gold digger type thot, the details on Clips's pops... I can understand why Clips had a mental breakdown. I felt the same way about the Calicoe battle. I know it's battle rap and everybody understands anything goes, but I don't think anybody really goes THAT deep into FACTS like Lux does. A cat like Arsonal is disrespectful as shyt but the majority of what he says is just general shyt or some shyt he made up or you know isn't happening (I'll tie your daughter up, I fukked your mom, etc). Lux is going in on your personal existence and your family's factual history.

Clips was trash in the 2nd and 3rd, but I'll give him credit, his 1st was hard by Charlie standards. LOL @ the random shot at Verb though in the 3rd.

I love this battle though lol.

But after finding out more with the back story, I realize lux 3rd was almost as vicious as the lost nikka round he hit calico with.

Lux sent his soul flying and it's not even debatable. I even said that this is Lux's most rounded performance to date.
