I (a black man) and we (the black community) can’t continue to be this sensitive when ANOTHER BLACK MAN is sharing his opinion on WNBA players who just happen to be white and black. This sort of chasing of narratives is ruining the entire discourse.
Ryan likes to pseudointellectualize his rhetoric and stance when in reality he’s becoming the female Jemele Hill. What actions did RG3 take? I mean seriously. This hair-trigger to crash out over perceived slights isn’t helping us, especially in an era where these sorts of arguments on race aren’t resonating like they did in years past. The time for the commentary has to evolve.

If it were just this singular take from RG3, Id agree with you. Lets not pretend all of what RC said wasnt built up. This dude (RG3) has a history of showing us who he is and what he does and doesnt stand for. I'm not vouching for RC btw. Just happen to think he's right about this dude. It definitely made RG double back and delete all of his previous posts referring to his wife as "Milk". Take that for what it is.

She's 1 full season into her career and is an elite defender, best rebounder in the game, and All Star. Her offensive game is raw but she's still developing. You're statement is idiotic because there's a ton of basketball players who were raw on offense and developed their game over the course of years.
I guess Giannis sucked entering year 2 because he averaged 7 and 4 as a rookie. Only 13 and 7 year two so I guess they should've sent him to the G League. It took him 4-5 seasons to get going offensively but by your logic anyone who isn't a high end scorer year 1 is garbage. That's not how sports works. Different players develop at different rates.
In no way does Angel suck at basketball. She needs better footwork and touch around the basket. She didn't get much development in college because she got by on her motor and size. She doesn't have the size advantage against pros so her game needs to develop around her strengths. She should be playing offense facing the basket which will require her to shoot more short and mid range shots. She's working on that and because she's a good free throw shooter she has potential there. She's also good at beating bigger players off the dribble so that's something she should do more. By year 3-4 she will be a much better scorer.

In a pure basketball context you're right but nothing involving Clark and Reese will be devoid of a racial component.
When I would open up my ESPN app last season the first highlight/story would be "Caitlin Clark fouled hard." That's over any NBA playoff highlights, baseball, etc. Why were common, not flagrant, fouls given so much attention? Black women hitting Caitlin was the lead story.
The WNBA commissioner got raked over the coals last year for downplaying the hate black women were receiving from Clark's fan base. There's no coincidence that all these league sponsored anti hate initiatives started popping up when she entered the league. We have black players speaking out about an influx of racists attacks and even death threats.
Clark brought in a bunch toxic fans and they've been attacking Angel Reese since she got in Clark's face after they beat her in the tournament.
Clark pushes Reece and Angel is the one getting attacked by RG3. That's clearly not about basketball. There were multiple hard fouls and minor confrontations in WNBA games yet only Reese got a think piece from RG3. That brother was dog whistling and got called on it.
I don't think Ryan was out of bounds at all. We needed a black voice in sports media to check him. It's not just about him being married to a white woman. It's about what he said, his wife cheering him on for saying it, and him not understanding the role he was playing.
