But it takes 1500 streams to count as one album. I don't like anyone that much. So, if i play an album on repeat 5 times, that's 5 streams?![]()

I remember you trying to get people to understand "street platinum" back on SOHH lol. This is exactly what this is... I used to always tell people low record sales for some artists isn't really showing how much INTEREST they are generating. This shows it.
basically...cause these artists aint getting a pennyThis is nothing but bragging rights.
The question is will checks be cut?![]()
Yeah true indeed. But this is closest we'll get to it. I remember when ya boy plies was hot. Sales wouldn't indicate it, but he was getting played everywhere.Street platinum was more than just numbers even though it took the actual sales into account too,it was just a feeling...Interest isn't the same thing as a album sale,a artist like Drake about to go double platinum off his haters alone
...You know how many people will download/stream a album, just being some "in the moment" azz mafukas? They will download it or stream it just because people on the internet are talking about it and they wanna be in on the discussion...So they figure "Im paying for this streaming,(or its free)I might as well listen
"....A "I might as well listen" shouldn't count as a sell.
On the other hand with street platinum it was what cats is listening to in they cars, they second home...A place where you only are going to play music that you are INTERESTED in...Where as streaming gets a lot of people streaming, simply because they have the service and might as well use it....Having the bootleg man tell you they SOLD out of something was just about as good as the album getting scanned with a barcode on it.
Street platinum gave homage to artist who made albums that was hot within the core demographic of hiphop....All this does is reward people for doing the opposite.
Cuz lets be honest, this does almost nothing to help a artist that's hot in the streets but not the internet/blog/social media fanbases.
Based on Bigseans fanbase, and who he would appeal to...Theres no reason he shouldn't be able to go "for real platinum" in this climate other than lack of REAL interest...he certainly cant factor in the streets with his album, didnt hear one car bumpin it,and not one nikka asked me if I heard it![]()
i don't think so, you know how many times i've listened to new albums and feel dissapointed after waiting months for that shyt? music is garbage these days, i have to weed out all of the garbage we call "hip hop" to like something. i don't care about "what's hot" as long as i like it. being an artist it might be good but being a fan you need to know what you like. i fukk with some new music but it's never touching the classics.

That's what I'm SAYYYYING there's a "feel" Sean ain't getting played more than a LOT of dudes out here. His numbers are UP though. This shyt is actually interesting. Like let's name some guys that FEEL platinum.See,Plies went gold and the fact he was getting played heavy in the streets gave him the extra push to street platinum certification....Now on the other hand, does "Big Sean" FEEL platinum of any kind.
I didn't know how J Cole was going platinum, but his fans finally did start coming of the closet to try to promote him through word of mouth....SO i do now know people who really fukk with J Cole, but Big Sean fans?Where?
