Didn't they do this a long time ago (like last year or 2014) anyway, it's kinda corny but it makes sense. Those with pure sales >>>> plaques earned with performance enhancing streams :mjlol:

couldnt disagree more. If people supported these artists, they would with they wallets. More people in this world than ever before yet sales are lower than before and its a direct reflection of how bad the music is. Good music still sells - while not as much as the 90s and early 2000s, id prefer they just lower the certificate amount for albums. 250k for gold and 500k for platinum maybe..

Its free to stream, its not comparable to someone dropping $15-30 on a cd.. I dont like this shyt at all

The reason why music doesn't sell as much as it did in the 20th century is the same reason as to how you're able to post here.

Ive been posting on forums since before the 20th century :jbhmm:

shyt before forums, I still remember Warez channels and mailing lists from AOL in the early-mid 90s

Adele, j cole and kendrick just sold how much? If you read my post youll see i said people sell less now a days but maybe a better solution would be to lower the amount of records for certification. 250k for gold and 500k for plat (for albums after 2010).

Counting streams is not the way

Platinum is officially Dead. Sorry can't give them a pass for this weak way to try and boost artist with these low sales. I'm not surprised I guess I saw it coming, they needed a way to get the artist to go to these streaming sites since a lot of artist were starting to reject it. Now they have an incentive, a Gold and Platinum plaque. I was laughing when I saw "Thriller 32x Platinum" when Michael acutally sold 30 Million of those records in the US (100 Million WW) and only 2 Million came from streaming. Adele showed people will support an album if they really want to. Yes sales are down across the board but some could argue quailty is down as well. These steriods streaming numbers ain't going to make up the gap lost. MJ is the GOAT, even with Streaming they ain't catching "Thriller".
