Most couples are helping each other with splits going from 50/50 to 70/30. I’m pulling that out of thin air but you get the point. Yeah and people really don't know the dynamics of many upper class families where the man pays all the bills. I have friends who's mom's never worked or worked part-time while the father paid all the bills. However, in many cases the mom's parents or grandparents covered their downpayment when they bought a house after they got married. And the father will financially benefit later on when the mom's parents die and leave an inheritance. So yeah he paid all the bills but he still benefitted or will benefit financially.
