Everyones time comes and goes. Nobody remains on the top of the heap forever.

That being said Ross makes great music.

All yall dunces who say he makes the same songs over and over again, yall don't listen to him.

This is his 9th major label release 9TH. Not too many artists can claim that feat regardless of what it sells.

Wow a 50 & g unit stan has the nerve to make this thread:pachaha:

But your right ross hasnt been able to find a hit record since mastermind

Devil is a lie went gold

Sanctified shouldve at least got a video

Hood billionaire was more of a street album but movin bass kinda got sabotaged by timbo

But the album itself did a decent number first week im pretty sure ross still made money off that album

Black dollar was everywhere for a minute gotta a lot of praise & high reviews

Foreclosure was a great record dude was talking some real rules of the industry type shyt kinda drysnitched im suprised he wasn't blackballed

After that dude was just dropping dope ass remixes & throwaways like it was nothing

That Adele remix was beautiful :ohlawd:

Adele shouldve made that a official remix no bullshyt :pachaha:

That renzel remixes joint was album quality :noah:

Black market imo got cluttered in with end of the year planning, a lil bit of oversaturation & i think the roll out turned some people off with lira galore

Especially with the chris brown single that was obviously a publicity stunt :scust:

All in all black market was probably ross best album real personal alot of beautiful collaborations :ehh:

It may look like ross has fell off but dude has not released anything wack at all :beli:

2016 was definitely 1 of ross's best yrs in terms of overall quality of music even his throwaways was classics :sas2:

Based upon 2016 rather you than me will probably be some really high quality shyt :merchant:

Idols turn to rivals sounds like it could be a really nasty record :lupe:

nikka got a song called scientology :wow:

If your not excited for this new rozay joint your either a bytch or a loyal stan of 1 his so called rivals :camby:
more on that?

more on that?

Timbo sold a beat to ross

Ross & jay made a song on the beat of course movin bass

Timbo either recorded a song with tink already on the beat then mixed & edited her parts with ross & jay parts or did it after he got the original

Whatever the case the song sounded like it was tink featuring ross & jay & it was actually better than the original

Ross released movin bass but because it didnt have a full jay verse & it was wierd to hear ross on that type of beat it wasnt received well

But before the record could at least maybe gain some momentum timbo leaked the tink version & it gained more buzz & overshadowed the original

Of course ross didnt like the stunt timbo pulled & he had to pull the record

Timbo explained it on rap radar

Bruh literally makes the same record every month.

On Tory Lanez's 'Super Freak', he actually said...

"...Middle of the dance floor and she snorting raw
All my accountants are held accountable
Had my suite for eight months tucked in the Fountaine Bleue
Just got my green bytch a green Chanel bag
Over 60 G's and never seen a sales tag
I pull a yacht out in the summer time
Can brag about the houses in another rhyme, boss"

Nikka completely disregarded the song title and rapped about his usually nonsense.

He did the same shyt on that NaS record, Accident Murders :dead::heh:

[Verse 2: Rick Ross]
We grew up doing graffiti, now hollow heads getting heated
Seated in foreign cars, constantly getting weeded
Proceeded to count profits, I know they got on binoculars
But fukk em all, we balling 'til they come lock us up
20 to life; I'm clubbing, blowing 20 tonight
We the mob, Bob Marley Marlin' all through the night
Addicted to wealth, never cold turkey to war
Snatch a TEC off the shelf, live forever; that's Insh'Allah
Memoirs of a rich nikka
Sweat suits, gold chains, old drug dealers
New Benz, chrome rims are for show, killer
You nikkas accidental, shoppers in back of the limo
Pay your tithes, stay alive, can't be dodging my clique
Cut a check; I use your bytch for some bargaining chips
In a hole, sell your home, nikka go sell your soul
This forty-five in control, God forgives and I don't

You lost me at relevancy. Dudes don't have to be poppin up on baller alert to be relevant.

Those dudes are touring internationally and making critically acclaimed classic records.

There are levels to music. Not everything is for the club. And not everything will be pushed by big business as "hot" there are reasons I won't get into.

But my overall point is this.

Gil Scott Heron never was massively popular was his work irrelevant?

Ross is never gonna be "hot" again. Youre only new once.

If he wants longevity. It's time to step his art game up. Simple and Plain. He has to find his pocket and work. The quality will maintain his career.

He need to release that Bobby Womack record for me too lol.
Breh I rap so I know everything isn't for the club or business cause I don't make those type of records lol. But the thing is those artists never reached the heights Ross reached outside of Snoop who had it for a decade plus and is now basically a whole another decade removed from it. Ross like many artists who reach popularity tries to recreate past hits. And I doubt he'd get his modern "BMF", "Aston Martin Music", etc by letting a Jake One or Alchemist or Harry Fraud type anchor his album. I see where you're coming from I just think I'm more of a cynic towards mainstream artists.

Bronx (Marble Hill), NY
Gibbs did it, Currency does it, Snoop did, DZA did it recently.

Don't hit me with the excuse that their not big enough to matter because if that's the case no rapper matters.

Production is the secret to longevity.

Kanye has proved this. Every abum has a new skeleton.

Kendrick is already applying this blueprint.

Jay mastered that Blueprint pun intended.

That's how u stay around.

Your subject matter is what it is. But when u put a different twist on it people don't get tired of it.

Nas doesn't do this production wise. But he's tackled a different subject every album.

I think you can apply the example to ANYONE with staying power.

Ross ran out of tricks three albums ago.

Time to do that boutique Harry Fraud record, get a Dre track or something. The people will be intrigued.

That's why 50 fell off to people as well. This nikka's production has been :trash: with the same subject matter.

If he gives us one more track like this one Im happy. Not expecting much though, his music frequently sounds the same and it's getting boring.

On another note though, can we all admit that Premo really brings out the best in artists?
