Ross good. I rather listen to his songs sounding the same than these nikkas out here sounding like each other down to the auto tune rapping and half assed singing.

Trap lord was dope too idk if that was just a compilation mixtape but I think it fits well with Ross's body of work.

Bruh literally makes the same record every month.

On Tory Lanez's 'Super Freak', he actually said...

"...Middle of the dance floor and she snorting raw
All my accountants are held accountable
Had my suite for eight months tucked in the Fountaine Bleue
Just got my green bytch a green Chanel bag
Over 60 G's and never seen a sales tag
I pull a yacht out in the summer time
Can brag about the houses in another rhyme, boss"

Nikka completely disregarded the song title and rapped about his usually nonsense.

Nobody today wants to do a whole album anchored by even 3 producers let alone 1.

Gibbs did it, Currency does it, Snoop did, DZA did it recently.

Don't hit me with the excuse that their not big enough to matter because if that's the case no rapper matters.

Production is the secret to longevity.

Kanye has proved this. Every abum has a new skeleton.

Kendrick is already applying this blueprint.

Jay mastered that Blueprint pun intended.

That's how u stay around.

Your subject matter is what it is. But when u put a different twist on it people don't get tired of it.

Nas doesn't do this production wise. But he's tackled a different subject every album.

I think you can apply the example to ANYONE with staying power.

Ross ran out of tricks three albums ago.

Time to do that boutique Harry Fraud record, get a Dre track or something. The people will be intrigued.

But they aren't big enough to matter :comeon: the premise of this thread is about relevancy not necessarily quality of music because honestly Ross still makes heat. With commercial viability in mind, the vast majority of artists are not doing whole records with 1 or 2 producers because they're attempting to capture as diverse of a demographic as they can.

Your examples of people utilizing production power for success doesn't show them using 1 producer per album to reinvent and stay relevant. In fact your last bit about Harry Fraud and Dre suggest the opposite. I want to see more artists do it or at least stop having 15 producers on an album but deflated album budgets and the Internet killed artists seeking the sole producer or a production duo/trio on the mainstream level.

Wow a 50 & g unit stan has the nerve to make this thread:pachaha:

But your right ross hasnt been able to find a hit record since mastermind

Devil is a lie went gold

Sanctified shouldve at least got a video

Hood billionaire was more of a street album but movin bass kinda got sabotaged by timbo

But the album itself did a decent number first week im pretty sure ross still made money off that album

Black dollar was everywhere for a minute gotta a lot of praise & high reviews

Foreclosure was a great record dude was talking some real rules of the industry type shyt kinda drysnitched im suprised he wasn't blackballed

After that dude was just dropping dope ass remixes & throwaways like it was nothing

That Adele remix was beautiful :ohlawd:

Adele shouldve made that a official remix no bullshyt :pachaha:

That renzel remixes joint was album quality :noah:

Black market imo got cluttered in with end of the year planning, a lil bit of oversaturation & i think the roll out turned some people off with lira galore

Especially with the chris brown single that was obviously a publicity stunt :scust:

All in all black market was probably ross best album real personal alot of beautiful collaborations :ehh:

It may look like ross has fell off but dude has not released anything wack at all :beli:

2016 was definitely 1 of ross's best yrs in terms of overall quality of music even his throwaways was classics :sas2:

Based upon 2016 rather you than me will probably be some really high quality shyt :merchant:

Idols turn to rivals sounds like it could be a really nasty record :lupe:

nikka got a song called scientology :wow:

If your not excited for this new rozay joint your either a bytch or a loyal stan of 1 his so called rivals :camby:

You lost me at relevancy. Dudes don't have to be poppin up on baller alert to be relevant.

Those dudes are touring internationally and making critically acclaimed classic records.

There are levels to music. Not everything is for the club. And not everything will be pushed by big business as "hot" there are reasons I won't get into.

But my overall point is this.

Gil Scott Heron never was massively popular was his work irrelevant?

Ross is never gonna be "hot" again. Youre only new once.

If he wants longevity. It's time to step his art game up. Simple and Plain. He has to find his pocket and work. The quality will maintain his career.

He need to release that Bobby Womack record for me too lol.

Between that shyt involving that alleged rape lyric on UOENO which costed him endorsements, having his record pulled for talking about assassinating Trump and that whole kidnapping charge. Labels seemingly are reluctant in putting bread behind him right now.

The Renzel Remixes and Black Dollar were dope actually
